The Heads Up Thread

one of the previous owners turned the bridge for some reason and chiseled a piece of wood from the boy to fit the strings.

There was a long bash on bassic a year ago. So the potentieller seller withdrew. It seems that the recent owner was not aware
of that and bought it anyway.

If you are interested ask for detailed pics of the body ? :-)

I'm intrigued!! Is there a link to the conversation you were talking about?

However, the first time the bass popped up on bassic in 2008 where a member bought it for 682 EUR on Ebay.

Dunno whether it was ruined already

Don't see too many of these. It's in amazing shape. You guys know if the price is reasonable? $1350 shipped.

Yeah but every non custom shop model is built with that same " production rationale" and every model is serialised within its own type, so no difference there with a set neck. If anything they are less serialised, a SN Infinity has, at a guess, had less production numbers than its non set neck version. Same with the Dolphin. Probably the Vampyre as well.

Naaaah, we're basically agreeing with different words. I meant to emphasize the use of "series" items : the same neck, CNC program for routing, electronics in ALL SN version.
Again, I'm not at all saying they are "lesser" instruments, but without knowing the price list at the time, I'm pretty sure the SN models were less expensive.

List prices of new instruments are irrelevant in the real world.

Every warwick owner must have learnt that. Especially all you custom shop customers :D

I didn't specifically mean you, just in general the view seems to be " but it's only a set neck model" ..... like that means it's not up to a neck through or bolt on.
Your point about the electronics, the same could be said for all Broadnecks, well they all have the same pickups etc. Again if everything is CNC routed it really makes no difference if they're all the same or all different. It's still a generic program loaded into the machine.

Vive la Set Neck!! Or not

Being honest i liked SN Infy much more than the 'true' Infy. Different wood and construction resulted in much more 'ballsy' sound. ;)

Plenty of the lines use the same CNC program for routing. How is this specific to this particular bass?????

This whole BO/NT/SN is a gimmick anyway,

People who hear and can tell differences between them must have superman ears,

Then even over drums, guitars etc? Plleaseeeeee

All sounds like a quality bass to me,

Huuuuhhh... My Infy NT5 "Stealth bomber" has the biggest balls of all basses I ever played. Crappy vid, but listen and don't look (starting at 0.20 min):

It's not, that's what I'm saying. P'ups are on the same spot in all SN models. I'm saying the made some rationalization with al SN models and shape. I could say the same for the $$ models. or for the MasterMan/ProM (although electronics were a bit different).

I fear I'm not able to make myself understood.
And there's no point as I'm not disparaging the SNs.

Maybe now I need to buy a Dolphin SN/TCS to prove I'm not against SN.
Damn, I was cured with GAS and now you guys are pushing me.

:-)

Yup that's 1600€.
That's expensive for an SN.
:-)
naaa, just kidding, but with the shipping and taxes, it'll be.

I'll wait for the Danish Dolphin CS SN TCS to go down to an acceptable price range.

Buzzard BO5 on Basschat.
Negotiable, I think, it's in the "upper reasonable" price range.

Imagine, you get this, you take it to a luthier, you enlarge a bit the routing to put in some EMG's 40PX-5... and boom, you've got yourself a pretty powerfull Manatee-scramer, fully equipped with rocket propelled chainsaws and optional octopus-anus remover.
