SO MUCH GOLD!!!!! Must be nice to be able to get them made to your every whim

Funny there is a shop near me that stocks some Warwicks, even an Entwistle Buzzard, but they sit there because half the time he won't even let you try them and he does not move on price. Last time I tried to talk to him was about 10 years ago when I bought my Katana, got it for $1600 from a dealer in South Jersey when this guy wants almost $3k for it. Seems a shame. He is known to be a creep and a friends kid who worked there quit after a couple of weeks because the guys just freaked him out.

Strange. Guess he doesn't like to make money. And it also looks like he shares the same Website Designer with Alembic ;)

It´s the pic. The air vents are... f*-holes...

Back on topic: someone grabbed dat 4-string fretless?

Yes, my Ebay sniper program was kind enough to get it for me.

It is supposed to be on the driveway on Friday. At that point it depends on whether I discover it first or the wife. We might all gonna die if the latter happens, then it doesn't matter.

Otherwise I am facing the difficult question of whether I want to fret it... Maybe a topic for a different thread.

Price drop to $2500usd on a P-NUT III. Flight case, extra tuners. Not too shabby...

Looks like it lives in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong okay okay, I feel I should share this.

Little while ago I was so desperate for a pnut3 I was buying one for 2500us. Even though it's 1.75 us for aus 1$. Yes, desperate.

Anyway,

- the guy has it on a US site (talkbass)
- sells it to me in US $$.. As one from the US would do,
- I find out he actually lives in Hong Kong, okay thats fair enough..
- I look at his other listings for sale, he lives in the UK... Okay getting weird,
- his PayPal has a different name to the person I'm talking to, avoids to explain why,
- his PayPal details say he lives in canada now..
- gives me some reason about how he lives here but the bass is there etc,
- he asks if I can deposit it into his friends PayPal for some reason (how about no),
- I pay him the money to his PayPal,
- payment sits in pending as he has issues with his PayPal account, long story but let's just say PayPal withheld the transaction due to security issues,
- he ends up refunding me the money (thank god)
- gives me a new PayPal with another totally different name,
- oh yeah and the communication was terrible, taking weeks for replies, I thought he did the runner a long time ago

I told him cya later,

BTW, it looks exactly like that bass, it's not the same user name as the guy I was dealing with, but who can stop you from opening multiple?

And also, who's to say it wasent all legitimate as well, no accusations here.

I for one will stay away from anyone with a Pnut from Hong Kong..

Okay

Further inspection shows that it's the exact same serial number,

And that's not the same user name, so he must have multiple

I also think it's funny he lists his location as outlying US islands

At your own risk fellas

Whoa!! Totally sketchy sounding. Wow. That's almost a story worthy of letting the mods at Talkbass know about. Really sounds like the guy was, or is, up to no good.

Buying an expensive used bass is nerve racking enough. No need for that weirdness/stress.

I had no idea what I stumbled upon ;)

So I took a look at his reviews and he has 6 positive but all in the month of November. Good deal but just sounds like too good of a deal.

Are you talking about the P-NUT out of Hong Kong?

If someone did take the risk (even after hearing Bonez's story)...I suppose you would be protected through PayPal from fraud (I would hope)...and at the very least, most credit cards have good protection against bad deals.

Still though.
