you really want me to die dudes ^^
like Henry, I'm not so so crazy about corvettes.... and BO basses are not my thing at all.
So , I must say this is not a GAS attack, indeed.
But I loooove Macassar bodys
I'll wait for a NT 5 string Warwick with this finition, if no Dolphin comes to me when my project which needs this instrument begins....
I just imagine a DOLPHIN proI 5 NT Macassar top natural finish...... I'd be crazy
advice : I often look here :
https://www.jauce.com/search/warwick
I often make instruments and other stuff come to France.
The shipment costs are calculated on weight , a bass without case costs less than 100€ to come, and this site is VERY serious, and pro : the package is VERY well made and secured.
And you must know that prices in Japan for instruments are VERY low, and japanese guys take VERY care of their basses
the fees and custom taxes are not so high, you can count around 20% of the bass price , very often less.
sometimes 0.....
I was associated with my friend luthier, to make some old Matsumoku Lawsuit instruments to his shop. Very good and cheap instruments, perfect to sell.
I must say that 1/10 of the instruments I made come to us has been forgotten by custom services, so 0€ taxes...... great
for example , this 1994 NT4 Streamer :
https://www.jauce.com/auction/u91262834
90 000 yens are 676€....
count 120€ ship + fees of the site
676+120 = about 800 .
taxes should be around 200,
a 1994 Streamer in a very good condition for 1000€...... I wouldn't have bought the 1987 SS1 (HALLELUYAAAAAhhhhh) I'd have maybe purchased this one.... 1 day left, 0 bids.....
you will tell me that it's auctions...
I know very well this website and watch very often the results of the auctions there, and I can tell you that Warwick basses are not very wanted, and sometimes used ones are VERY cheap, because Japanese people love "kawai" things, which are MINT, and when it is vintage, used, scratched , the sell it very cheap because they consider it is not "honorable" to sell something broken.
I've a friend of mine who's japanese, and his work is to sell stuff at international.
I know it's a little bit "cliché" to tell that, but Honor for them is something huge..... and they don't like vintage stuff.
I must say I VERY often watch this website.
a few month ago, a 90's Dolphin has been bought buy a (CENSORED) guy because I couldn't buy it from where I was (on tour) : Mauritania....
I don't remember the price, but it was around the same than this Streamer .... boo ooh
