The Heads Up Thread

So are these Pro 2's any good??
From memory and what I've read they were a bit hit and miss. Manufacturing issues and no consistency in build quality.
I would be interested in a cheap one tho
I haz plans

If I gather correctly, when they were good they were alright, and when they were bad they were terrible. Warwick disowned the Pro 2, said it was a disgrace to the W on the headstock (remember when they cared about that?? :D). It was never re-released and I can't even find evidence of it on the website.

I feel like it's that way with quite a few early 90's Warwick's tbh.

Some Pro series, 2 CS thumbs (fretless and fretted) and they have a Stage 2 from 1990 in as well. The stage 2 looks like it wants a tad of oil/wax, but most used Warwicks I have seen can always use a bit of top up :)

Yes, almost as good looking as this one :

TROLL LOL .

i'am thinking about someday to refinish my Vampyre in White, Goldplated or natural Oil/Wax....

I can highly recommend Sound of Music (Hans Schweizer) for anyone in Stuttgart or thereabout. Just visited a few hours ago, and here are the most outstanding specimens:
1. 7-string Streamer Stage I
2. 5-string Streamer Stage I (maple neck/FB, ash body wings, narrow spacing)
3. Two 4-string Streamer LX's - one gloss black, maple neck, wenge FB, one gloss blue transparent QUILTED maple top, ebony FB, maple neck.
4. 4-string Fortress Masterman
5. 5-string Thumb NT in all white glossy finish.
6. 5-string Streamer Stage I - ocean blue oil finish, wide spacing, bartolinis

All of these were apparently new, and from 92-95! Condition on most of them was very good, albeit the naked wood was a bit dry and some of the pots in need of TLC. Take a look if you're in the area!

#2 sounds like the J Earl model.

Not sure they had the broadneck back in 92-95, could it just have been adjusted wide... early Dolphin was 'wide' but not an option as such, just 'wide'. :)

I like katanas. Haven't seen any come up for an appealing price here in aust. Exchange is killing us from the U.S. :/
