The Thumb that went to Tchernobyl and back.

I had one of those! It was a 4 string version, and was the mahogany (or at least mahogany-looking) version. Bought it back in my hayday of buying as many basses as I possibly could, but always buying the cheapest basses that were knock-offs of the ones I wanted. I wanted a Warwick, couldn't afford one, so I bought the Sledgehammer to satisfy my Warwick cravings.....

I think I had it about a month or two. Barely played it. Horrible bass. Bought a real Warwick a few months later after realizing I had spent equally as much on a huge number of cheap, crappy basses as a few of the nicer, real-versions cost. So I downsized the collection and now I'm addicted to high quality, expensive basses!

OK, it's not a Warwick, but this is "The One" Spector for me : a Forte with Helium wood option.
Plus a really weird, good looking Buddha face in the wood grain :

Random thought, and one I've said about other basses. Just imagine how amazing the NS series basses would be if the necks had 21 frets and the bridges were shifted towards the butt end of the instrument a la Streamer CV. The NS5s look so freaking awkward, like their bridges are in the middle of the dang bass.

It would be amazing if Warwick did this with the Infinity, as well - wood is useless below the bridge IMO. All you're doing is shifting the neck farther away, and often pushing the tip of the horn closer to the 24th fret.

Yeah well, still of you can get it for like $1500 that would be pretty good. I know those we $3600 new back in 2006, almost bought the neck through instead of the bolt on I have ( which I got for $1600)

I once saw a Katana NT 5-string in HP transparent red sell in a case for $900. Gahhh.

That batteries thing - I don't know if that makes sense. The batteries should be wired serially, meaning if you're missing one, the whole thing shouldn't work (correct?)

Also, here's a great Thumb bass for a great price:
