Streamer STD?

Can anyone tell me anything about this Streamer Std?



It looks like a rockbass (with the bridge and the humbuckers).
If it's a full on Streamer, is $400 a goo deal for this bass?

Yes, this bass is a Rockbass Streamer Standard. Note that the pickups are not humbuckers, those are Alembic Style single coil pickups.
 
It looks like a rockbass, but the headstock isn't the same (unless they didn't print "Rockbass" vertically on some rockbasses). My rockbass corvette std. has the "W" on the trussrod cover and "rockbass" vertically. Could this be an different or older version?
 
Sorry yos9, I overlooked that detail. This is a Warwick Streamer Standard. This bass was produced in Germany for many years before we made it a rockbass. Right now it is made exclusively by Rockbass in China.

I believe the old German Streamer Standard had a carolena body (like the Rockbass) with the wenge neck and fingerboard (did it ever have the ovangkol neck?)

This was the entry-level German Warwick before the RockBass line came out. It's been discontinued for a while.

You're right on the Carolena body, but I'm pretty sure that the Streamer Standard never had the Wengé neck.
It was introduced after the switch from Wengé to Ovangkol for Warwick necks.

yos9, The picture of the bass is quite bad, but I think that there's something wrong with that bass.

I've never seen that input jack on a Streamer Standard, or on any other Warwick bass.
The Streamer Standard had the female jack on the top od the body, but It was made just like they're made now on the Rockbasses.

Also the bridge, seems somehow strange, but it could be just the poor quality photo.
The one piece bridge usually found on Streamers Standard seems more solid, less wimpy than that, but as I said it could be just the photo.
 
Yos9, I agree with Mr. Rabble that the picture is not going to give you and accurate idea of what you're getting into. Ask the seller to send you some good multi-angle pics at the very least (then post them so we can all see!!) before you make any decisions. ~M~
 
Thanks for the advice, guys... I think I am just going to bag it altogether. For that price, I can get a brand new Streamer Rockbass if I wanted a lower-end passive warwick to play around with...
