Streamer Stage 2 question

I just bought a Streamer Stage 2 5 string bass. The volume knob pops up into a different position. Can somebody tell me what the up and down positions do? I think one is active and one is passive. Which is which?
This bass is 2 years old, but in mint condition. When I played it in the store, I didn't know about the volume knob.

Hi, down is active and up is passive, just try it. In the passive mode nothing changes in the sound when you turn the bass/treble knobs. It could also be a different electronics where the "out" activates the slap contour, you should here the difference in tone anyway

Thanks a million. I bought the bass used, and the sales guy didn't tell me about it. The specs on line don't say anything about it either.
When I get home from work, I'll try it. Can't wait!

I sure will, as soon as I figure it all out. I can't wait to get into this bass. I played two thumbs and a new Streamer, but this one, a 2004, sounded superb!
This is the first real high end bass I've had. Years ago I played a Fender P bass which was nice, but not like this Stage 2.
I was playing a nice little Schecter Studio 5 which I loved, but now I'll never look back!

If you want to really have a laugh, play your Warwick, then pick up a Fender P-bass or J-bass. I always feel like I'm trying to drag the sound out of the Fender. (which has live spots and dead spots all over the neck by the way.)

I agree fully mate,"the best neck in the bussiness" ( fenders claim,not mine) leaves alot to be desired when it comes to dead spots & dud notes on their necks,but i've played a couple over the years that were fine.I guess their quality assurance isnt what it could or should be.
