Streamer LX Broad Neck vs. Thumb BO Broad Neck

Good Evening Friends,
I've been looking to add to my wee collection of basses and am currently considering some options for a fretted bass. I'm not much of a fretted player any more, but it's fun to play and I need a fretted bass for every gig and usually every session I do. I Popped in to a local shop the other day and had a chance to play a beautiful Streamer LX broad neck the other day, well needless to say, I was blown away, what an amazing bass. I had never played a broad neck before and so it was an unexpected surprise. The sound and feel was just spectacular. I also tried a MTD Kingston 5 fretted, which was really dissapointing, a Thumb 5 BO fretted, and a Dolphin fretted SN 5. The Dolphin had a really nice sound and the Thumb is great as well. Now I'm not sure if the sound that was so impressive on the Streamer LX was coming from the soapbar pickups, the wood, the PUP position or all the above. (I'm sure "all the above" is the correct answer)
My question to any of you out there is; does anyone own or has anyone had the chance to try out a Thumb 5 BO broad neck with the soapbars? What's the balance like on the Thumb broad neck? (translation; is it neck heavy?) Do the soapbars open up the sound a little more or has it still got that very unique Thumb bass sound? (don't get me wrong, I love my Thumb bass) I'm looking for a very versatile fretted bass and not everyone is totally hip to the thumb (Looooozers) Has anyone tried them both out side by side (or own both) the LX BN & Thumb BN that is?
What are your thoughts my friends?

Indeed the BN option on the Thumb BO adds depth to the sound (IMHO especially the low H string has a better definition). But it's still a Thumb BO typical sound. If you're looking for a "universal" fretted bass I would still go for the Streamer (even if for my personal taste I like that typical Thumb sound and feel better)
 
"H",, "B" pretty close on the ol keyboard,,, minor oversight I'm sure. Personally I love the Thumb sound and the soapbars should open up the sound a bit more. But,,,,, how neck heavy is it???

Now, back to your thread. I'm not a "Thumb guy", but I suspect there's a good chance you'll run into some neck dive. And my guess is that it would have plenty of the famous Thumb tone, but agree that the soapbars might open the tone up a bit more from Jazz pickups. Not solid answers, but I agree with your assumptions...
 
Even though it's a Broadneck I experiment less neck-dive on the BO BN (larger body ?) as on the Thumb NT (but that one is a 6-string, maybe not a fair comparison).
