Only spent a few hours on BN 6s at dealers but I find them very comfortable. My only concern is what happens when switching back and forth between my vette and the BN Streamer.

I'm in Manchester today and I have reserved a few hours at Sound Control Salford. They have a couple of SS1-6s there, nicely broken in by me :lol: Cheers!
 
Congrats Patrik!!! And welcome to the wonderful world of the SS1 :D

I dont think it will be a problem for you switching between the two.
Give it a little time to get used to the different feel, and before you know it
your musclememory kicks in.

Dont forget to give us a review and pic´s.
 
Congrats scuba. For me, Streamers are the most beautiful basses in the world.

I don't find that a problem with the SS1 and the Thumb. :)

Women seem to be really impressed with the SS1 - well my wife and mother were and they normally don't care about guitars. It must be the gold shiny hardware ;)

I guess this is the best way to see if the bass is really good. If the wife notices your bass, or the sound of it, it is realy really good.
When I played the first time with my thumb NT, my wife said to me :

........."acum chiar am auzit bassul, suna foarte bine!"........

I like the SSII better, but she never told me that again since then...

Maybe you'll fiddle it out and see what string spacing you like more. I'm sure you'll slap the SS1 more often. :D

Anyway thanks for comments everyone. I've just done something completely opposite to what I've always felt about Warwicks.
1. The first time I went through a Warwick catalogue the Streamer was my last choice.
2. Basses should be black!
3. Gold hardware is BLING.

Hmm... opposites attract.
 
Well it is not that important what she said to me, the important thing is that she noticed my bass :-)

.... but I wouldn't say that to my lady if she played a Warwick.
 
Just a question around how to qualify the "A" quality on maple.

I've heard the definition A, AA, AAA, AAAA and AAAAA on maple bodies. Ive looked at the "Wood" corner at Warwick.de but I'm not getting more clever there. Can you rate this body and tell me why you rated it that way please.
 
The A's describe the quality & uniformity of the woods figuring.The more A's,the more uniform the figuring is.In the case of Flamed Maple like yours Patrik,the more parallel the flaming is.I hope this makes some sense.

But to me the quality of maple is so subjective. Is it the distance between the "rills"? Or is it a subjective decision of a quality jury?

What is actually "flamed" and "not flamed".

The "flames" on maple are the lines in the figuring,the more uniform the more A's.Unflamed maple is more plain in appearance.It's a purely cosmetic thing & has no effect on tone.

The AA, AAA, AAAA, AAAAA qualification of the wood remains in the hands of Warwick them selves I believe, as it has a major impact on the price. I was just curious of the wood grain of the bass mentioned above. /Patrik
 
I think it's the supplier that grades the wood & sets the price mate. :wink:

It's AAA Maple to me as well ("Ahorn" in German, "Lönn" in Swedish)
