SS1 2002 price question

I found this SS1-5 2002 and I immediatley got GAS. It seems to be in mint condition. Is 1600 Euro a fair price?

Recently paid $1375 (€1100) for an immaculate 1999 bass, not a mark on it.

That was admittedly quite a bargain though, I've been offered £1200 (€1800) for it already, so I think €1600 is a fair price, but not a bargain.

BTW, I was at Sound Control in Manchester UK today. They have an absolutely HUGE guitar/bass wall there. I fooled around with a SS1-6 and a fretless Thumb BO-6 BN. I might have fallen for 6 string broadnecks. I hope it's just a fling cuz I can't afford'em :cry: . GAS mighty GAS... :roll: . If it doesn't stop I'll have a wall like this by end of spring.. :

Yeah, I went there at the new year, I was like WOW! They run out of corvettes though A very nice (and very expensive) spector NS2 as well.

True, true. But they are quite heavy. ....at least if you`re used to lightweigh Yamahas. Prob. around 4,8kg.

I only had it on my lap .... But I was very surprised about how thin it was. I was also surprised about the huge upper horn, covering the sight of the strings. Unfortunately I didn't have time to try the sound.. For sure a nice piece of work....

Yeah, sometimes its a b*tch, especially in situations where there`s little light. I consider getting some inlays on the neck to make it easier. But it`s a beauty, yes. I`ll post some new pics of it soon, in the "Show your bass"-thread.

I've been dealing on the bass which you can see on the pictures in my first post. The guy mentioned that it's a "classic line" and thus the classic straplocks. Final price is €1550. What is "classic line"?

Any thoughts are highly appreciated!!! /Pat

Well I don't know what "classic line" is, but i see there a very very beautiful instrument. I guess, you can find used SS1's cheaper (not much) but not with this looks. So that makes IMO 1550 EUR a fair price for that beauty.
Ask him about:
electromics, hiss, contact problems, etc
trus rod, how often he adjusted it, the trussrod and the trussrod nut are not damaged?
tha bass had no accidents, the frets are ok, etc
He delievers the bass in harcase? (I hate when guys want to send fine instruments like this paked unproperly)

If everything is ok, just buy this one. I shure know I'll buy it. My wife too!
