Slapping the Corvette $$?

The Corvette $$ is great for slap - especially with all the different pickup configurations - you can get quite a wide variety of great tones! The string spacing is user adjustable at the bridge, so don't worry about that, and the pickup doesn't get in my way either, I guess it's just my technique? The Thumb has a tighter more focused tone for slapping, completely different to the $$

Thanks for this reply! I'll be able to test some basses soon. But there isn't a $$ aviable there. So I'd be quite pleased if somebody could send me some sound files with the $$ and the Thumb, so that I can compare them myself! --> [email protected]

Thanx! i"ll post some stuff from our new album when i get the chance, i"ve used the thumb on some songs and the $$ on others... the $$ has a much wider tonal variety, while the thumb seems to have a better tone, but in a narrower range.

FWIW I'll try get you some raw files of the diferent basses playing the same lick and also with the different pickup selections of the $$

I played a Corvette $$ 5 this week, and had no problems slapping on the bass.

Hey all!
I finally could play a Corvette $$ with 4 strings and a Thumb NT with 4 strings and I went for the Thumb! I love the sound of this bass!!! It's a beauty too! It has a black finish and black hardware. It's definitely worth the money.
