Question to Corvette $$ owners!

Hey, i am new here, and got my Corvette $$ about 2 weeks ago.
Best bass i have ever played, just great! 8)
My question is;
It is very easy to scratch the pickups when playing with pick, and it leaves som nice scratches..i have heard these are pretty hard to get of, nearly impossible(?)..have any experience with this?

My recommendation to you:

Keep them scratches and dings coming as you play. It will not ruin your sound. I bet the rest of the forum will back me up on this.

yeah i totally agree with patrick on that..a bass is meant to be used, and anything which doesnt affect the sound should not be considered :D

the $$ is bit of a bitch when playing with a pick..i think the scratches on the 'buckers are inevitable :?

..last but not least, welcome to the forum :D
 
I also agree, but you could always lower the pickups if you don't want to scratch them up. You don't want them too low because you'll lose some signal and add noise, but you can certainly drop them a bit...
 
By the way! In the single coil mode you can get cool punk rock tone with the pick. :lol:
 
Or you can play with your fingers.. lol

My old art teacher used to make me walk over the new paper or canvas straight away so I wouldn't be scared to "mess up" the newness of it and get to the art.

+1 for the scratches,
My $$ is brand new too, and it's a bit frightening to see those scratches the first time you play it with a pick but if it's the price for a great sound...

Anyway you can use a dry cloth on the pickups to make them a bit less visible.

By the way, welcome to the Warwick family and to the $$ club :D

Damn, those pickups make my amp distort as hell sometimes!
So does my previous bass (Yamaha RBX 374), guess it is the active electronics that causes this..but it's not a big problem.

I run my corvette $$ through a Sansamp bass driver, dude..Gotta love the sounds you can get :twisted:
Anyone else using Tech 21 stuff?

I own a SansAmp Bass Driver, awesome pedal that adds a huge sound !

I also came from a yamaha to a corvette $$, I don't use a SansAmp bassdriver.
But I just changed my amp settings a bit, and lowered the PUs to get a good balance between the strings
cause the E string was the only one who distorted a bit and was far louder than the three others.

However I cannot get a good sound through my Boss Bass Overdrive,
I tried different settings but I get a nasty sound when I let a string sound.
 
That's normal, that Bosss ODB3 is pure crap ! Seriously mate, get rid of that pedal !


If you want a pedal that won't kill your wallet but still sounds good, get yourself an Ibanez PD7...


I personnaly use a Fulltone Bass Drive, and it's awesome!

Alright!
Same for me, the E string distorting. I'm gonna lower the PUs and see if the problem has been solved =)
