Question about care for an autographed Thumb

Hello,

I recently won the "Warwick Jack Bruce Giveaway" over here in the US. I was just wondering about applying the beeswax to this Thumb....Will the ink of the autograph cause any issues if I apply wax over it? I have no idea if it was waxed after Jack put his sig on it?

Just want to make sure caring for it as normal is ok...

I'd apply a coat of wax very carefully. Once its covered it'll help protect the signature.

Some people apply the wax with .00 wire wool....but ofc this would remove the signiture so best not to do it :)...same with sanding but thats pretty much common sense!
 
really cluieless since I do not know if the signature is actually a signature from a marker or something like that or an inlay.

It is an actual autograph from a Sharpie type silver pen of some kind. I want to make sure that waxing it won't disturb the ink.
 
I guess light waxing very sporadically in that spot will help. I would not do lemon oil there since it tends to eb somewhat stronger than the wax. the rest of the bass make sure is well waxed and frequently especially during these first fewweeks, day and months to be able to have a good coat of protective wax built.

Waxing wont hurt the signature.Just dont rub the shit out of it. :wink:
 
You have one of the Jack Bruce basses? Jealous is the right word to describe me right now. Wow! How did you win that? He's the reason I play bass. Congratulations on such an awesome win!
