putting castors on a warwick 211 pro

The 410 Pro cab does have plenty of bottom. But it's not a punchy cab in my opinion - it's more of a warm vintagey bottom with warm mids and muted highs.

Two x 211 Pro cabs certainly have more bottom than one. They sound huge. think of them as sounding similar to a 411 Pro running at 4 ohms, but sounding tighter and more focused when stacked vertically.

The 411 Pro cab is great - plenty of punchy bottom end, with tight mids and great sparkly highs. It sounds fantastic for slap.

411 Pro
Plenty of bass with fast response and well defined mids. Good as standalone, or in a pair, with the WCA 115 Pro or WCA 211 Pro. The adjustable HF horn provides a clear attack and brilliance.

There is a much larger difference between these cabs than just the horn.
 
yeah i understand that, but the thing is, i want another 211 cab, but i dont think it will be loud enough. at the moment i am having to play max out (volume and gain wise) just to keep up with the drums, let alone the other 2 guitarists and vocals.

i just think i need 4 more speakers instead of 2 (to make a 6x10) and since the 411 is too heavy, its gotta be the 410. and since it will always be used with the 211, which has the custom speakers and a horn, its "vintageness" will not be so pronounce and it will just add to the overall volume

I'm afraid it doesn't quite work that way. What you will have is the charactersistics of the 410 Pro will squash some of the tonal characteristics of the 211 Pro.

I promise - I've owned exactly the same rig.

...but hey - whatever you think ;)

If you're happy to put weight before tone, that's up to you.

lool ok, i know i am very stubborn and i dont like to be told i'm wrong but here goes with my final question:

if i do buy the 410, will i really regret it? or will i just be thinking yeah its ok, but the 211 sounds a bit better?
if i buy the 410, will it really sound bad? will it really squash my punchy tone so much that i will say i wish i never bought that?

I can say what I felt when I had a 410 Pro + a 211 Pro.

I thought - oh crap - I love the tone of the 211, but I really don't like the 410 Pro. I should have listened to the guy in the shop and bought the 411 Pro or another 211 Pro to go with it (the 211).

That was my experience.

DAMN! I both hate you and love you at the same time. u've convinced me not to buy the 410, which i am greatful for, but you have convinced me not to buy the 410, which i hate you for because i was all set on it!
argh the never-ending struggle of GAS. if i buy another 211, sure, my tone will be great, but what good is tone if it cant be heard? and i'll probably wreck it by screwing in the castors somehow knowing me...

I don't know how loud you feel you have to play.

I can't think of a situation where my 2 x 211 cabs would not be loud enough. Any louder and I don't want it on stage, I will send a DI to FOH for PA support.

If, however you plan to play crazy loud and feel you need the 411 Pro cab - just get it. It's really not that heavy, and besides - it's on wheels.

do you know if you can buy the warwick castors to screw in to the 211? cos then i know they will definitly work
 
Any decent quality casters rated for the load of the cab will work just fine ;)

If you want the Warwick casters, you'd have to contact the local distributor and ask if they're available. I'm only speculating, but I doubt it.

right i've made up my mind 100% - im gonna get another 211 cab. that should be loud enough for now. if its not loud enough in the future, i will buy a louder head that can go down to 2ohms, and buy yet another 211 cab. that should see me through :D

anyway, with these bloody castors - can i just screw them directly in the cab? or do i need to take the cab apart somehow to screw bolts in the otherside?
