Power my pre

I read that amps and such should have their own dedicated power source to ensure proper power output and overall health of the unit and other components. Makes sense. I see a lot of people using Furman power conditioners. Is this coinsidence, or is this just the standard and I should just go get one? The Monster pro 900 power center I'm using says it sends clean, protected power to each outlet and has an indicator on the front for clean power. Is this good enough?

I don't usually take my HB system out of my house...but if I was gigging as you...there's NO WAY I would take it without a flight case which included covers! Here's some info that might be helpful...I stumbled onto a flight case called EWI tour cases. They are very inexpensive (4ru around $100)...extremely sturdy, and not ridiculously heavy. Now they are made in China, and I was skeptical at first with respect to the lid fit, etc. No worries...bought one, and immediately ordered another after I saw it. They have them instock at Audiopile.net...just Google EWI cases...you'll find them.

The 12" depth (front to back rail) flight case rubber feet perfectly fit into the recessed circles on top of the HB cabs. Obviously, that won't accommodate the Mono 500. The 14" depth case feet are a very close fit front to back, but you could easily move the back feet to accommodate the Club Cab impressions on top. My Mono 500 will fit into the 14" with the rear end protruding about 1/4 " beyond the case without the lids. No worries, the lids give you plenty of room (approx. 2") beyond the actual case when attached though. The 16" depth will make the Mono 500 fit within the case itself...but now your adding more case weight.

The flight case matches the width of the CC/LC and looks really good on top. I will try and take some pics when I'm home tomorrow, if you'd like. I'd recommend relocating the back case feet to fit the recessed areas of the cab, because it gives it a little more security from getting bumped. Hope this is helpful. :-)

Pics on this forum are always a good thing! Looks are one thing but protection is everything! The case I have in the pic above is cool for now but when I get my speakers, I'll re-evaluate my situation.

Yeah, I think it will be a tight fit in any case, unless I get a 5 space. I have already moved it to my Skb 4ru. Only good thing, is the Monster power center is shorter than the pre and that gives me the 1 ru space in the rear to get in there. I have my Monster power pro 900 power center, (any opinions on that is welcome) HB pre and the power amp on the bottom. For now, I'll keep it set pre eq and send a clean signal to f.o.h. I just really don't want to make my rack profile any bigger.
Going to get new screws tomorrow too.

Hmm, don't know yet. I've switched cases like 3 times already because the HB case is still quite attractive and it's part of the set. I may keep it in there during any long stretches with no gigs....like now.:(

A good road case alternative to the HB sleeve. Keeps the knobs recessed...

Thanks for the link! Those look great and the specs suggest quality construction. I'll look back into them when I have my speakers.
