PC games (mostly flight simulators)

cool! i used to be really into Lock-On Modern Air Combat. Until switched to mac instead. :|

I still remember Operation Overlord, the best WWII-flight sim ever...

Sometimes I like to take long tours with the bicycle with my wife Lucia. The longest trip was 700 Km in 10 days :-)

somehow I manage to choose only costly hobbies

Tell me about it.... :( That scuba diving malarky is pricey, especially when you go to the Maldives first - everything is downhill from there (or really expensive like Australia or Bali) grrrrrr

Scuba diving
Snowboarding
Going to the gym

I think the thing that takes up most of my spare time is writing music - I have a DAW which I run Cakewalk Sonar on and recently invested in Akoustik Piano, Elektrik Piano, B4 11, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Amplitube and Ampeg SVX.

It's great fun but the learning curve in actually using Sonar was quite daunting - so much easier than using a 4 or 8 track though. I've had it since March and I'm getting to grips with it now.

I've made a hobby out of TRYING to get back in the gym.

made a hobbie of saying I'm going to the gym...

haha +1 to that.

When i'm not doing bass related things. I really enjoy going to gigs, i just got back from reading festival yesterday(monday) so atm forum whoring is taking up a lot of my time (i read other forums as well as this). I play way to much of an MMORPG called Eve-Online and my nintendo ds is normally in arms reach where ever i go. I also tend to watch way to much anime.

Yeh...i'm a big bass nerd geek :)...

Normally stuff:

A good cider, good company and watching a friend get drunk on the vodka jelly we gave him (he didn't know it had vodka in it) makes for a great evening, add some poker and some lovely ladies and you got a perfect evening :D

oh and i also like kite flying

I'm happy to announce I have a new hobbie.I walk. After my 6 months of gruelling medication & horrible disgusting side effects, that still linger,I got sick of feeling like crap so I started to exercise, now I cant seem to stop & if I miss a day,I dont feel right.I think I lost touch of what it feels like to be normal. :)

You must start walking sooner than us to come to Markneukirchen. So enough with the forum, pack your bags and take Zakk on your shoulders mate :-)

I got bad news Flo.Zakk & I wont be able to make it.I've been out of work for so long & I'm still feeling pretty sick so it's probably best I dont travel that far.I dont think I could get travel insurance at the moment but that will pass & we'll get another chance to meet up & play with the kids.

Greg, I'm inspired. I'm starting back today! :)

That's great Gerry.I think one of the best benefits of excersize is having the extra energy to play with your kids like a kid,not like an old tired weezing geezer.

Tell me about it! I was a member of the Flip City tumbling club when I was young and I'm teaching a cartwheel here. Strength is good as long as you stay flexible.

Hehe, I did it the other way around. Started with the cold, dark, muddy, dry suit dives in Sweden and finished with the Maldives. Still need to discover Australia and South Africa.

I used to go diving in the 70s... in the cold dark muddy Irish Sea, and in flooded slate quarries in Wales (clear and bright, but still cold). I had a load of used gear and made my wetsuit from a kit... so the glued seams would start coming undone when you're in freezing water. Those were the days! Can't believe how flashy it all is now, fancy dry-suits, buoyancy compensators... and dive-computers!!!!

...sorry... I sound like an old fart!
