other hobbies..

Um. I read a lot. Go to the gym. Em.

Music is my life, pretty much :| lame, huh?
 
I have a number of hobbies, the bass, and playing with it.. :shock: :D . I also make models, some from kits, some from scratch. Mostly sci-fi subjects, I'm currently working on the 2002 Dreamworks Time Machine. My last project was The Betty from Alien: Resurrection made from sheet styrene ( the took about 600 hours). Where I'm at with the TM at the moment is learning to turn things on the micro lathe, I'm using acetal at the moment but may have to go to acrylic since acetal is a pig to glue to ANYTHING.
 
1) Drawing, painting... working on a lot of big canvasses at the moment to fill up the walls in my new house.

2) Writing... just started re-writing a book I actually started 35 years ago... have to go back to page 1, unfortunately.

3) Playing 5 string banjo (mostly bluegrass). Finally got a 5 string after all :wink: That was Florin's fault, he postred an article by Adam Nitti, suggesting a good way to improve your bass playing was to learn another instrument! (It works)

... also have to find time to go to work... that's a bit of a pain!
 
Uh, - sometimes I think I've got way too much hobbys. Especially when looking at my time and cash ;)

What I really like is doing sports. I'm no super sportyguy just doing sports for fitness - I just enjoy having fun. So I'm playing handball (in a team), streetball (with friends but about once a week), really like beach volleyball (not too often, though.) and swimming (but in fact: I hate SWIMMING itself - here in bavaria we got a lot of really nice lakes and rivers. Mostly I use them only vor swashing :D )

On the other hand I like tabletops a lot. Activley I'm playing Warhammer 40k (Emperor's Children ~3500Pts. But the new codex sucks!) and really like miniatures of other systems. Just painting them, though.
Btw. I got a PC able to play most of the actual games (Bioshock really rules) and I own a Wii (Resident Evil 4 ... really really rules!)
 
I like mountain biking. Logically not too exciting here in Denmark, but it's still great fun. And apart from playing my bass, I play double bass and guitar.

They're huge! Our tallest "mountain" is around 80 times smaller than Mt. Everest, so just over 100 metres :lol: I've biked in Australia and New Zealand though, that rocks!
 
i dont have many other hobbies other than music.

but if you are so into music and bass (like me) that you watch music forums, watch bass videos and read bass mags and do other nerdy music stuff like that your not going to have too much more interests.

what else do you need anyway?
 
- listening to music
- HiFi stuff
- engineering in general
- some reading
- video gaming

......................Maybe I forgot some.........but this is about it. :wink:
 
working out, PS2, beer, capt. morgan&coke, fishing and biking.

Used to play and paint Warhammer 10 yrs ago, but I got bored and got into girls instead. I`ve also taken some crash-courses in special-fx make-up, so I try to offer my services when needed.
 
graphic design, taking long walks just looking at stuff, playing videogames, watching films, food and beverages (basically anything with rum and ginger in it!), reading, fishing

Hehe, I started with Warhammer when I was about ... 17?
I.e. long after I've started dating girls ;)
In my area most of the 40k players are around 20 or above - so no kiddy stuff here. But I for myself am far more into painting models. Gives me the moments of silence I need once in a while, just to relax.
 
I am currently going to school to be an Electrical engineer (at FIT) so I like to tinker with "things".

I play video games on my computer when I am not doing one of the six million other things I "should" be doing. I am currently playing Bioshock (great game) and I hate MMORPG's.

I am big into good beers. My current favorite is Duvel and I enjoy a good VSOP single malt every now and then.

I also have a 23ft. 2000 Baja 232 Boss I/O Converted with a Chevy 350 cu. That I love to run around the river here (when I have the money for the gas).

Other than that I play the bass, play with my dogs or lay around at watch TV. (when I am not working).
 
I just played a demo of Bioshock, great stuff! Sort of a more twisted and bloody Deus Ex :D
 
bioshock is excellent! i bought the full version for xbox360 on friday and played a silly number of hours this weekend. :)
 
Not sure if it's a hobby or not but I meditate daily. I also enjoy good cigars and single malt scotch...
