non warwick bass with mec pickups

I love the tone of the MEC's on all my basses that have them. That bass looks like quite the machine, what kind is it?
 
looks pretty good, except the upper body has melted :D
 
I trust MEC wherever I go. If it were up to me, I'd have them in all of my basses.

i wish it was satin finished though. but sweet looking nonetheless.

If they made replacement electronics for the Ric I'd be all over it. I love that bass, but it is so noisy. Buzzes like a bee on meth, the toggle is prone to problems, and crackles like it's going out of fashion. Replace the Ric stuff with a setup like the Fortress (volume, fade, treble, bass) that would be the perfect Ric.

Hey, does anyone know if the 2 band preamp might work?
