New Streamer STD

Hello all! I've recently purchased my first ever bass guitar, a Streamer STD and I've got a few questions:
Can you guys recommend me a decent bass tuner and a good type of pick? I'm currently using my fingers to play but you might never know when I need a pick.
Also on my Blue cab 30.1 I have two inputs for the guitar, a passive and an active one. Which one should I use. I've currently plugged it in the passive input.
Any other tips are welcome.

Picks:
As for brand, I prefer Dunlop Gator Grip picks. They're reliable, and they're textured so your fingers don't slip off.
As for thickness, I think you are going to have to buy a few different types of thicknesses to experiment with. I prefer the 1.5mm, but everyone is different. Bass players tend to stick with the thicker picks, since they have big heavy strings they need to plow through ;)

Tuners:
This is something that I don't know a WHOLE bunch about, simply because I haven't tried that many brands. I usually tend to stick with what I know when it comes to tuners.
My two favorite brands of tuners are "Korg" and "Boss". I would recommend any tuner by those two companies. You should get a chromatic tuner, since it will help you tune to any note you want. Make sure the tuner also has an input jack, so you can tune without worrying about other noise going on.

Passive/Active Jack:
You've got it right. You say you have the Streamer STD? That means you have This and not This, This, This, This, or This. Assuming that you have the Streamer Standard (By Rockbass), you should plug your bass into the passive jack.

Picks are cheap get as many different ones as you can and play around with them,I play with my fingers but sometimes use a pick and over the years I have switched brands and thicknesss quite offten.like trey said korg and boss make good tuners.

Uhm, since I'm a new guy here I didn't notice there's a Rockbass section on the forum. An Admin to move this thread there if you have such rules.

And this bass is awesome.. I can't wait for my blisters to heal so I can play better :D
I just can't stay away from it. Although they hurt I still take the bass and try to practice.

Another thing I've been fooling around with is covering part of the pick with grip/hockey tape,I found it keeps the pick from getting slippery.
