Yeh - that said I've not seen the dunlop ones floating around so I may be forced to upgrade. Most of the exisiting hardware, including the locks is pretty worn, so I'll order a whole new set for it!!

Scratch has been left as is - its actually pretty invisible when ya playing the bass.
New chrome tuning machines, tailpeice, 4 new knobs, neck screws and bridge saddles. The old bridge was soaked in metho and scrubed, all the grime has come off it. Apparently the recessed locks aren't compatible at all with the Warwick locks, so for the ease of having all the straps working with all my basses, the holes were dowled and new straplocks fitted.
Bass looks a million dollars and plays awesome too. Just letting the neck settle back in for a couple of days before I give it a final intonation check.

I love the all wenge neck on the Fortress. The feel in unbelievable. I'd love a Dolphin Pro to go with the SN, but only one of the older ones with the wenge neck. I thought the ovangkol was sweet, but getting your hands on a wenge neck is something else. Great score there dude.
As for the scratch, those coloured oil finishes seem to mark up like crazy. My blue Streamer STD had a number of dings when I got it, and it had just been sitting in a store, NOS. Awesome score there, looks killer, and I'm not a fan of Vettes.

See I missed all of page 2, sorry to see it go. Turned out great in the end there. How did you clean up the bodkin? I'd love to get my Streamer looking that nice.
BTW, you can still get the Dunlop strap locks, I found them online, like you, my Fortress (with recessed locks) did not have the strap part. I think the sellers do that just inconvenience us. :wink:

To clean her up, it took it all apart, polished the frets with 0000 steel wool, cleaned the board with lemon oil, and used warwick wax on the back of the neck. For the body, i just gave her a good polish with a cloth, and the hardware I didn't replace got soaked in metho and cleaned with a tooth brush to remove the gunk. She came up really well I think! I'll be sorry to see her go.
