Yesterday I picked up my new corvette which i won on ebay
Its a 96 model with wenge neck, bubinga body, passive electronics no crackling all great condition. Amazing grain of wood no dings and been waxed regularly, and the guy gave me some wax, a 4 inch leather strap and staplocks
...also to my surprise it has a proline tag on headstock and has the proline pickups (the Passive MEC "Dynamic Correction" pickups).
It has some fret wear on the first few frets, but the rest are really good condition and a slightly lose input jack (ie the lead can slip out if pulled). All in all i'm very happy with it, strung it with EMP's today and gonna be working on setup just tweaking the nut and bridge as the neck is setup really nice.
I'll post some pictures later today i promise (i know i've not posted any pics of any basses but this time i really will, I may as well get some of my $$ while i'm at it as well)
edit: just removed the pre-amp question
