Last Corvette $$ Question i promise!

Just an easy one really for those who own a Corvette $$...
The Stnd Vette has a countoured body on the top where you would rest your arm whilst playing. (if you looked at a bass led down wth headstock on the right, it would be the top left of the body - am i making sense?!) This is obvious on the product pages on this site if you look. Cant tell looking at any pic i can find of a $$ though!
I am guessing that it would be exactly the same body (prioir to routing) but can someone confirm this please?
Oh and is the keck the same for a $$ as a Vette Standard too - as in all-round dimensions!?

Stinky, the Vette $$ does not have that ergonomic cut out as armrest.

Doh!! Is it still easy to play?! i ask as thats exactly where i lay my arm and play with a pick pretty near the bridge. Not easy for me to get to a dealer and try one as had vette standard before knew how that played so thought the $$ would be same, but now...
 
After some fine tuning I find it very easy to play.

I first found it a bit unbalanced. I used to hang my basses pretty high (almost choking myself). That does not work for me with the Vette$$ due to the missing cut out. Now I lowered the bass which lead to serious neckdown as the weight of the right arm doesn’t compensate for the weight of the neck anymore.

My soulution was a serious strap which keeps the neck up.

Another solution is to cut out a piece of your arm but that's less advisable.
 
I had a good leather strap when I got my $$ and found it very easy to get used too...
 
:? Bit confused with this one. To my mind the bodies on the $$ and the Std are identical. Both have an ergonomic chamfer on the upper bout where your right forearm rests. Both also have a rear rebate on the upper body on the back of the bass.

Neither are body-contoured like the Thumb.

It seem the body specifications are not identical between Vette STD and Vette $$ after all. And now you're making me worried. All Vette $$ pictures I've seen does not have the "arm-rest cut out", which would be preferable.

The "belly/chest cut-out is there.

Warwick/Ollie, can you explain the change in specification the Vette STD/$$ specifications please!

Actually, the only Corvette that has the armrest cut is the Corvette Standard, all other Corvettes have the normal flat body cut.

Why?????????? The top arm rest is sooooo nice, why drop it for the $$? Seems penny pinching?

Agree with "Martthebass", that's sad. Can the "armrest cut-out" be done on a finished product?
