OK ... out of lack of warwick experience i ddnt know a streamer looks like this:

its being sold really cheap locally... thats why im a bit suspicious
 
i see... its the real deal then... its being sold locally for 26,000 php ... roughly $620 ... i guess its pretty much the normal price since i saw some katanas selling for lower than that

I'd definitely take the Katana overa streamer std...
 
Streamer for sure. I do not know about the bridge. isn't this supposed to have a 2 piece one? this looks like a bridge from a Rockbass.

I do not like the color not the labor you'll invest in it to make the hardware shine again. I think you can get it way cheaper than that ($400 I would offer it was me).

let us know what you do.

you can maybe buy it, clean it up and sell it on ebay or here. there are a few collectors here that might be interested once in better shape.

Before the Alembic style 2 piece bridge,Warwick used a 1 piece Schaller,like the RB. :wink:
 
i like the feel of the Streamer Standard, but i dont like the bridge, or the input jack on it, if it had a 2 peice bridge and the type of Input that is used now i would like it alot more. I think one day i will get one though but ill probably wind up changing the bridge, input, and put a larger EQ on it

Save yourslef the hassle & just get a Streamer LX. :wink:
 
yep... definately a streamer std. they come in a few different specifications. some only have one pickup while others, like this, have two. they sell for about $500 around here used. So that might actually be a bit pricey, but i know Doog has one and loves it. considering the age i'd say it probably has a wenge neck, which is a nice bonus!

haha i was just thinking about the STD. But im pretty sure my Next bass will be a Streamer. Either a $$ or an FNA Jazzman, and im trying to decide if i want a 5 or a 4..... ya know what im going to post a topic on this for help.
 
I love my Streamer Std. but it is unlike the usual ones because mine has a Swirly Bubinga top. The neck was replaced by Dana B. Goods and it has a 2006 serial number.

- Strange, because the top is not standard, yet there's no Custom Shop plaque or certificate...

- Strange, because it has a 2006 serial number, yet weren't they discontinued in '01?

I paid $750.00 for mine, but it has the custom top and it's a 5-string.

The Bubinga top really adds nicely to the growl and with a Bartolini preamp, the MEC vintage humbuckers sound great!

The one-piece bridge is Warwick's own (not a Schaller), and has their logo engraved on it.

I REALLY want that bass, only if it was a four string...
 
Definitely a Streamer STD. That one is exactly the same colour as mine, so it is correct. Mine's fretted and one pup. It's a really nice bass to play. That being said I paid $280 US for mine, NOS (new old stock) with a premium Warwick gigbag. This was basically the predecessor of the RockBass, but made in Germany, it is a real live Warwick. The one piece bridge is stock, and it has a waxed ovangkol neck.

The finish is weird, looks okay in person. Not sure if that's how the blue fades.

Doog; i like that bass. man that looks sweet and your cat is always in all your pics, I know you have said she loves the attention and at first i thought you were kidding but.... now i am convinced.

Again, I would not pay more than $400 for a bass that requires that much TLC and attention to make it look similar to Doog's IMHO.
 
i was just asking because truth is... i really am not a fan of streamers ... i thought it was really cheap at first but yeah, it seems this thing could still be cheaper...

im getting a dirty blonde... and after that, id be spending on an amp.
