Quoted from the warranty card every bass comes with.
Provided that the instrument was purchased from an authorized Warwick dealer,Warwick, throught it's exclusive distributor, warrants it against defects in workmanship & materials for a period of two years from the date of purchase to the original buyer. This warranty is not transferable.
This warranty does not apply to damage caused by misuse, mishandling or negligence in use, maintenance or storage.Warwick,or the distributor is the sole judge as to the misuse or abuse of the product.Should warranty be allowed.the distributor will make the decision to reapir or replace at it's sole discretion.
This warranty does not cover normal wear & tear or accidental damage.Frets.strings,nut,fingerboard,tuning machines, pickups & finish can wear out with normal use.Defective parts will be repaired or replaced without charge if the product is returned to a Warwick authorized service center,or the distributor,& only if the procedures in this warranty are followed completely.Warranty repair is defined as the restoration of the instrument to a condition that it functions properly.
Please contact the place of purchase before returning the product for repairs.Products sent directly to the distributor require advance authorization number. This number must be clearly written on the outside of the shipping box.
Make certain to include a copy of the bill of sale(mandatory) & a detailed description of the problem.
It's yet to be establised you'll actually be charged Koy.
It's impossible to establish that you are the original owner without a bill of sale. But I've perosnally seen Warwick homour a warranty without it.This depends alot on the nature of the damage,of course.
Who you buy off & for what reasons are up to you.But so far,I cant see any good reason why you should feel hard done by.It's just common sense to keep your receipts, especially when you spend $1400 & get a new bass.To assume Warwick service is poor for that reason is a bit much I think. They built & supplied you with a quality instrument. If there was a problem from the start, why wait over 2 years to bring it to their attention?
I'm not accusing you of anything dishonest but it sounds plausible that maybe you'd like a new neck free of charge on a bass that you might not have bought new,& now you feel hard done by & threaten to take your business elsewhere because it isnt going the way you'd like.
I'm sure if you bought the bass new, from an authorized dealer, such as Guitar Center,& you paid with a credit or debit card or even cash, there's going to be a record of it kept.Alternatively, you might have a bank statement,or get your bank to send you a duplicate of the statement for that month,or the withdrawl of the $1400 on the day you bought the bass.
I dunno,I'm just trying to help out,coz I like everyone to be happy,as much as possible.
I think you should wait & see what happens with Tyler & talk to him about everything you've mentioned here & see what happens. You could ask him to asses the damage & call you prior to any work being carried out & then you can decide what course you want to take.
& remember, that a replacement neck will be a German made neck & not one made by a local luthier that has a fraction of the production costs compared to a large company.Warwick necks are precision necks built on state of the art equipment using the best materials.
Good luck.
