How do you get ahold of someone from Warwick???

I have been trying deperately to get an answer from them about my twisted neck. I never realized it would be this hard to find out how to get a replacement neck. Been working on this about a week now, and I still have no idea what it will cost me. Great instruments, as long as nothing goes wrong I guess... I have emailed them thru the web site a couple of times now...Nothing, nada, zip. Anyone?

I asked informations about your situation, and I understand that Hans Peter replied to you 2 days ago, and he gave you the contact person - Tyler (DBG).
Tyler was also informed about your situation, so what is the problem now mate?
 
Hi Florin, thanks for the response. DBG is no help. They claim they will no longer be offering support for Warwick. So now I am either waiting till after the first of the year to "Maybe" get some help from whoever steps in as new US Distributor for Warwick, or trying to contact them directly, which is what I have done, with no response. I love my Warwick, so I definately want to try to have it fixed, but so far Im not even able to find out IF Im going to be able to fix it.. All I need is a good straight neck...
By the Way, I checked out your bands "MySpace" jams. Although I cant understand a word of Romanian, I loved you guys groove! Well done!

Have you discussed this issue with Tyler at DBG after Hans Peter spoke to him?

That the boss and founder of a company of such a large scale as Warwick would step in so readily and become involved in a customer support issue speaks volumes about it's integrity.

Well done Warwick.

Koy - I'm sure that you will find a resolution quickly. The wonderful support here at the forum from Florin, Greg and others, in conjunction with the readiness of Hans Peter to help will ensure that things are dealt with - I'm sure.

In my experience Warwick support is wonderful.

It's a shame (and despicable) that DBG have told you that since they're losing the US Distributorship in a few months that they will not support you! Are they not the distributor until January? They should provide full support until that time in my opinion, and I hope that Hans Peter Wilfer tears them a new arsehole for treating you so poorly.

Koy,sorry to hear of your frustration,but as you know,the owner of the company has stepped in to assist you.That's pretty unusual & as Eberbachl says,speak volumes.
Lokking at your signature,I can see this is not your only bass.You own several excellent basses there & while I understand that you want your Warwick fixed asap,please bear in mind the situation regarding the ditributor,& that this isnt not a new instrument that's still under warranty.
Warwick are one of the few companies that stand by their gear long after the warranty period has expired & will actually go outta their way,to help consecutive owners maintain their gear in good working order.
I'm sure this twisted neck isnt keeping you from doing gigs/getting paid/feeding kids etc.
If you were told inititially that DBG's cant help,get back to them & speak to Tyler Krupsky,in the service department & I think you'll find they're willing & able to sort this out for you.

Ok, sounds good. I will contact Tyler again today. I actually found a guy here yesterday that builds custom guitars. He told me that he didnt think that it would be too difficult to reproduce a replacement if I was unable to get a resolution from Warwick, so either way I will get it done. He is also going to look at just repairing it. Does anyone know if it is a 2 way truss rod or not? It is a Standard Bubinga 4 string Corvette with Oviknol neck and wenge fretboard. Thanks again for all the support here on the forum. Wish me luck!

If it has a Volute it's a two-way truss rod.

As it has an Ovangkol neck, I'm betting it is.

Don't have the guy attempt to repair it until you've tried Warwick.

Warwick won't let you keep the old neck if it has to be replaced. You can't just buy a new neck from Warwick without sending in the old one - if you order a new one, it must be accompanied by the neck that's being replaced.

I think you should send the whole bass, not only the neck, and you will get it back with a new or repaired neck.

On the other hand, keep in mind what Golem said to you about new vs repaired neck ;-)
Because if you send the bass to us, I think we will simply replace it with a new one .

Ok, just got off the phone with Tyler at DBG. There seems to be a completely different policy in effect since I called them earlier. Tyler was very nice, and very willing to help. Looks like I will be sending it to them Monday. They will try to repair it. Hopefully it will work, as I was quoted about $400 for a new one. YIKES! Thats kind of high for a 2 year old Bass. I would have expected it to be much less than that considering I bought it new 2 years ago at around $1400. But if it can be fixed, it will be fairly cheap. I personally think it was defective, and it should cost me nothing, but thats life I guess. I just hope it can be fixed, cause its my fav. I love my Warwick, but not sure after all this that I will get another.

if you bought it brand new from a warwick dealer then this should be under warranty no?
 
I dont have reciepts or any proof of that, but Tyler said he was going to do it under warranty, which is why he was going to give me a "discounted bench rate". I didnt really understand that. Warranty repairs in my business are FREE, or if defective, replaced FREE under warranty, so I really dont know why I will be paying, but hopefully it will cure my woes. If they cant fix it, a replacement neck is going to cost me $400. "Under Warranty", whatever that means. If thats the case, I doubt I will do it.

if it is under warranty the neck should be free man.

See, thats what Im thinking. The more I think about Warwick's so-called "warranty policy" the madder I get. Tyler told me that under warranty, a new neck would cost me $400 USD. If I go to Warwicks homepage and download a pricelist for a brand new neck, purchased outright at Suggested retail, it would be 263. (Im assuming this is Euros) which converted to USD is $337.00 How can a new neck, under warranty be $63.00 higher than if I bought it outright? I think maybe Tyler at DBG may be trying to put ol' Koy through the wringer. While it is true that he "might" can straighten it out for around $85 (also "Under warranty") I dont think it can be repaired, and neither did a Luthier here in Texas. Who, by the way, priced me around $300. to just make a new one, with a REAL warranty. If this is the way they are conducting the warranty program at Warwick, I dont think I want any.
So I have chosen not to send it back for repair, and put that $85 toward having this guy make me a new one. I really love the growly tone of Warwick Basses, but for the $1400 I spent, I would expect a little better service just 2 years later.
Unfortunately, I think this little episode has also made me reconsider my next Purchase of a Warwick Streamer which was also on my wish list. I will look to another company who better stands behind thier product in the future. I will get a new neck made for my Corvette, and hopefully play it a very long time. And enjoy it, but it will obviously be my last Warwick.

I think you need to call Tyler again and probably what he meant is that if this is not covered then they woud mcharge you that much to get it replacedd. if the neck is twisted or bad then it is a defect and should be covered 100 % minus i guess the shipping of the bass. I ahev heard many stories like yours and in all of them Warwick helped them out. That's why I am sticking with them. Do not get me wromng but I think you need to talk to him again and tell him about the warranty and more detailed info about this mess. if the bass is under 5 years old and you got it new you should be able to get it fixed at no cost man.

try checking with your dealer for the copies of the paperwork. I know with GC they pull my phone number and they can see my purchase history. also they should have copies of them for warranty purposes since they are supposed to report to Warwick the purchase of the instrument nd the name of the buyer along with the serial number. of course this is the ideal case scenario but I would try that before just dropping the whole thing off . these are good basses and their people back them up.

try them again.
 
try contacting Peter Wilfer again and tell him what they are telling you here and I know he will get you straightened up man. :wink:
 
I wouldn't let this stop you from buying another warwick,I have had lots of bass's over the years and had a few necks go bad.And they weren't cheap ones.So far I have had good luck with my wicks and there one of the few bass's that I would buy without playing first.I wish you luck with the neck problem.
