My ultimate version of "solid hog and humbuggers" has to be my Wals, which can also "rip a black hole a new @$$hole, twist off its head, and spit down its throat!" Unfortunately, they too "approx the gravity of a black hole"!

Interesting that mahogany came up. I actually own a 1982 G&L L1000 that I think just might be mahogany (and holy geez does it kill!) and I love it... definitely more nasty than I could hope for. The other interesting thing about mahogany is that mahogany is part of the reason I started down this road in the first place. I played a USA Spector (blasphemy! ) w/ an Aguilar OBP-3 through my rig the other day... it had a deep, smooth sound that was still nice and gritty, so I know my gear can do it. The body was mahogany with a spalted top, pau ferro board, and maple neck, but since I love how Warwick does things (wood choices, build quality, etc.) I am wanting to snare a 'Wick to fill this role. Keep the ideas coming!

Warwick uses mahogany, you just have to really look for it! *EDIT: I'll give you a hint, I own one...

But I hear ya. If you want an ovangkol neck (the Warwick way), I don't think you want a mahogany body - it needs a maple neck. But I'll stick with my swamp ash vote...
