Hey guys! Here's a short clip of the Sexy Hair stage performance at the Salon Centric Hair show in Grand Rapids, MI a few months ago. The sound quality once the solo is over is not the best.. They actually had me almost completely down once the song starts. Nothing was coming through the mains or monitors but I was still plugged in/recording direct. So I'm wayyyy to loud in this mix! At first I was worried since I was playing by ear.. had to learn the song with tabs on my cell phone 2 hours before the show. Luckily this 3 note song wasn't too bad ;) Haha! Thanks for listening!!

Well at least you can show some one what you can do and they don't have to struggle to hear you.

Man that is very weird, stage show with hairdressers in the background.....what will they think of next!!

Nice solo by the way!

Sounds good, Alex!

Hey, is that one of those ltd. edition Thumb BO's with a Bubinga Pomelle top?

Thanks for sharing Alex. It's a pity the sound was so bad, but it's obvious you know how to play & enjoy yourself doing it. That, imo, is the #1 rule.

Please dont let Woody's moronic comments put you off.
He's our villiage idiot.

His post was so nonsensical, i couldn't even dicpher it enough to label it moronic... so i'll trust you're word on it, Greg.

Music is about sound, it is the most and #1 rule

Did i like the sound? No
Did i like the look? maby the basist is pretty but aren't this importent for music? Of couse it is not importent

I would better listen to Geezer Butler,
Do i like his look? no he is no a pretty girl
Do i like his sound. Yes

or if to speak about warwick player, i like Yenz Leonhardt

My 5 cents

Dear Woody! First off I want to thank you so much for pointing out the obvious!! I would have never figured that one out on my own =] Music is about sound?? lol, Why do you think I carry two Warwick's on my back.

Second.. this is a HAIR SHOW. I am also a Licensed Cosmetologist. So yes.. for this show it was more about the look. I'm truly sorry if you lose sleep at night over that.. but this was a show supporting both of my professions. If you read what I put above the video you would know that I wasn't even coming through the mains after my solo. I was working with many professionals this weekend.. we're not stupid =] The only reason you can hear it on here is because I'm hooked in and being recorded direct.

When I complained the day of the show for still not knowing what song I was playing.. I was literally told to just "pretend". Well I'm not going to pretend when I know how to play.. So my only option was to look up tabs on my cell phone (with no amp) an hour before the show to learn the song. And for the record.. most hair companies don't have live music for these shows. This is a twist in the hair world.. so we should be happy they're open to change and allowing the magic of music join and entertain.

I can promise you this.. Every weekend when I plug my Warwick's into my SVT Ampeg 8 x 10.. (or two depending on the venue).. It's about nothing but sound =] I don't use my "look" to get me places. I don't need to. I know how to play, I know how to perform, and I'm good at what I do. I joined this forum to talk music.. YOU are the one on here talking about my look.. So thanks! I'm flattered =]

I can tell you're one who thrives on TRYING to be a complete a$$. Unfortunately you've found the wrong forum to do so in.. because truthfully I'm amused and find humor out of people like you... constantly looking for an opportunity to put in your ridiculous "5 cents" .. When all you're really doing is just making yourself look like an idiot.. ahhh it's cute!! Why? Perhaps you must try to bring others down to feel better about yourself?? Who knows.. I don't need to know you well to know that you'll always be this way. So maybe next time you should actually have an idea of what you're talking about before you do so =]

Have a beautiful day!!

Man, I love this forum... *eats some popcorn* :)

Hi Alexandra,

Loool!!! nice reply. BTW, it seems it is not the first, I played for shows like that done by Londa in Romania like..... 5 years ago. I was even a hair model for one of those shows hahahaha! Imagine me on the catwalk :-)) I've done it each year since then. Not the modelling though, because my hair is not as it used to be...

All I say is that it was always a fun event, but always was like that - in a hurry. As you said, this show is about the hair not about the music.

Do I like the sound? - yes!!!
Do I like the look? - Hell yeah!!!
A guy said once " We see better than we hear" so the way you look is very important for the show, and it does help the music. You cannot separate the two of them, you see a performance with sound and image.
Even if you are a naturally good looking uhm... bass person, looking THAT good is the result of a lot of work. So I see it as a proof of professionalism.

Thanks for sharing, Alexandra.

P.S. - Woody, let's say your comment was a little big against this forum's unwritten rules. But Alexandra done well, so we have 10 - 1 score for Alexandra. Now please do not reply again this way, at least not in this topic. Stop it like a real man I know you are :-) Consider this as an official moderator's warning.

This girl shuts down idiots as well as she plays bass! Awesome work!! :) Top job in both respects Alexandra!

Sorry, Woody, but you had it coming...

...and please, I know you think writing that way you are very "funny", but, from my point of view, when we write with our best ortography and grammar, we are having respect for the people that´s going to read us. I was born in Venezuela, and living in Spain, but I always try to write the best I know in english, so you all could understand what I´m trying to say.

My 0,2 Euro cents.

Haha, nice discussion. Really.

But this is like the wierdest background show on a stage I've ever seen. I like! :D
Have to get some hairdressers for one of my bands and cut my hair WHILE I play. Only possiblity to top that one.
Nice!
Btw: I think we all like "the look". It's a girl with a Warwick! ♥

Edit: Flo? You were a hairmodel!? Hahaha, this thread keeps getting better and better :D

+1. But we need pics, don't we? No pics, no hair-model career!!

Or is Flo's avatar a photo of him doing the hair-model thing?

Thanks Flo!! Love your words! =] It's so awesome to hear that you've worked a hair show.. I'm elated! Haha, I know this isn't the "first"... It's just not extremely common in this area. I've been asked to travel with Sexy Hair to do shows in about 5 big cities next year. The ones we know about for sure are in Vegas, San Francisco, and New York. I'm sure I'll see much more of this in these areas! I haven't been able to travel much.. So I'm definitely excited! =]

I do love to mess with appearance and style!! You're right. It DOES come hand in hand. I look at it this way.. If my TV is muted and visually I'm drawn in.. I'm going to unmute it!!! =]

+1. But we need pics, don't we? No pics, no hair-model career!!?

Completely agreed!! Would love to see, Florin!! =]

To all of you: Thanks so much for the replies!! You're all amazing <3

Hansel... So hot right now... Hansel.
