Fastest CS delivery ever? - My Infinity is ready :-)

Congrats on the Infinity, Mala! It looks fantastic.

That second cover is most likely for the preamp circuit board for the Piezo. It's a pretty big circuit board and on the infinity it wouldn't fit in very well in the same compartment as the main preamp. They had to take chunks out of the Piezo preamp's circuit board just to make it fit in my 6-string.
 
Thanks guys, just came home and realised I admitted my stepdaughter to borrow my amps for a ferry gig with her band today so it will be another evening playing acoustic :?

Had a bad experience today. Was at a meeting in Stockholm. WHn I came out a lady told me that a truck had run straight into my car when it was parked. The boot, back windows plus the glass panorama roof was in approx 3.007.683 pieces. Calls to the police, insurance company etc etc.

Sh*t Sh't Sh$t (but the bass was not broken...
 
Sorry to hear about that Mats! Damn irritating sh*t to deal with when you're happy with new stuff. Did the truck driver leave the scene or was he an honest guy?
 
He left the scene but there were two independent ladies who had taken the reg number and company name of the truck so the police will have a quite simple job which meens that I wont have to pay anything on the insurance. Rental car is included but it doesn't help because I need a car with automatic gear and hand controls and as far as I know there is none around. Don't know how long it will take to fix the car but it's pretty annoying :?

OMG Mats,You really excelled yourself with this CS mate.It's very nice & I cant wait to see what you think of her.Sorry to hear about your car too mate,you think a company that insures your car would be able to supply you with a car you can drive,that's pretty silly on their part,I reckon.I'm glad the bass is ok though,cars can be fixed or replaced,CS basses are one offs. :wink:
 
Thanks for the support Greg, I am awaiting some basses in the next couple of weeks, one that I have been waiting for for 50 weeks right now... but this Infinity was really one of a kind and it´s sooo nice.

Regarding the car I've been out looking for a new one this evening and found an interesting one, an Audi Avant 2,7 TDi Quattro -06 with just about everything. I've had a couple of Audis before as company cars and they're really nice so I might make a move on it...

Thanks Florin, I just connected her to an amp for the first time, some hour ago. She is very different from the other fretless basses I have, the attack is fenomenal and the piezo provides her with a very dry acoustic sound. She is not so very Warwickish in the means of midrange growl but the cavity gives her a very full body. It will take some time to find out the different settings. As said before, she has a specific sound and will definitly take a place in the arsenal. I can probably use her where I would normally use a fretted bass as well. The B-string gives one of the very best bottom I've ever heard but I cannot get the "Jaco" song from her (yet). However I have other basses for that.

Summery so far - the looks is the best, the bottom is huge, the sound is very originial, the piezo is magical and I could probably use this instrument with that only.

Will be back / mats
 
It's beautiful!

But I do think it's a shame you ended up with fretlines - a fretless infinity looks even classier without.

BTW, that's exactly what I would choose for my next bass if I was allowed one!

Mala- Im jealous. That Infinity is incredible. What kind of strings are you putting on it? I bet gold ones would look great.

:lol: I have tested both the Windmill nickle rounds and the EBS Titanium Nickle and this time the WM won, they really makes her sing. Cheers / mats
 
Congrats Mats,

Very nice figured top, I like the kind of v-shape in the bookmark. The Infinity is my favourite Warwick shape anyhow.
I'm curious how the piezo's sound...

Thanks Ewald, the piezo adds a very dry acoustic sound with superb attack, very double bass like. I could probably do with the piezo as single PU. Cheers / mats
 
That's one hot fretless bass there mala, cograts for the new bass :D :D
