Fastest CS delivery ever? - My Infinity is ready :-)

I am happy I didn´t have to see it on the custom shop gallery first. By coincidence I am in Stockholm at an IT fair when Kimmo at JAM called me and said that my CS fretless 5 Infinity arrived today. Gonna pick it up tomorrow. He said it is a very beautiful bass and I will share some pics later. Will spend a couple of hours in the hotel room tomorrow night nursing her :lol:

Delivery time? I ordered her five weeks ago and they said eight weeks delivery time and my expectation was set on four months.

Well I'm still waiting on delivery for my Custom Ifinity that I ordered on November 1st, but it's not tha bad, because I put every single possible option on it.
 
Well I didn't, only a piezo and a sign on 24th "MALA" :lol:

what is the second cavity in the back for?
 
Piezos. They need extra batteries. I'm assuming they took the usual cover due to the fact that it is a hollow instrument. The regular box they use for the extra batteries might have affected the tone of the instrument.

Normally the inifinity's battery is in a different compartment because the electronics of the instrument won't fit with the battery in the regular compartment. This doesn't affect the tone of instrument at all. All we have to for the piezo is put a different battery compartment for it instead of the single 9V compartment.

Thanks guys, I just picked it up two hours ago. Haven't played her on an amp yet that has to wait until Sunday night :(

It is a real beuty and quite light weight as well. There are two issues:

I ordered it without fretmarks but probably because I used the word "fretmarks" that slipped through. This is not the CS bad though.
The second thing that I am not used to is that the dots on the side of the fretboard is in the regular position as on a fretted bass. When we build basses ourselves we put the dots in the fret position.

Otherwise she feels very nice and sings great acoustically. The piezo will add even more attack. Will just change strings (never liked the Warwick ones) and then she will be ready for great deeds :lol: :lol:
 
What a beautiful, beautiful bass. One happy Mala.
And with a piezo bridge - i might consider this, instead of adding the Precision Bass pickup to my FNA.
