Nothing, they just got reissued. In 2006 you could only get the Streamer LX as a 5 or 6-string bass with a broad neck. Now you can get it with 4, 5 and 6 strings and you have the option between a non-broad neck and a broad neck 5 and 6-string Streamer LX.
 
I guess I should have phrased that better - what is the difference between a Streamer LX and, say, a Stage I?
 
Well the LX is Bolt-on with a maple body...

The Jazzman and $$ are both Ash bodied-bolt-ons, with their distinctive pickup arrangements...

stage I and stage II are neck-trough, stage I in maple and II in afzelia.

The Chrometone a chrome-covered maple bolt-on...

that covers the mechanical differences...
 
The Chrome Tone is nothing more than a LX with a chrome finish and ebony fretboard.
 
The LX 4 string also has a P-style pickup at the neck... with the maple body, ovangkol BO neck... I'd be very interested to hear how it sounds!

i never understood why they stopped making the non broad LX, surely they must have sold more of them than the broadneck.

It would be like making the BO thumb broadneck only

I'm glad to see it back (i love my 99 LX 5)
 
There's a new LX 5 string in a shop near me & it's the bass I use to try out all their new amps,magnificent bass & sooo comfy.
