Hello,

Sad story.....last night before going to bed I had a quick go on my thumb when suddenly there was a lot of crackling and fizzing and then nothing:( Tried a different battery and cable but no luck. When I would turn the tone pots I would just get pops and crackle noises (even in passive mode).
This morning I phoned the dealer I bought it from (Sounds Live ,Newcastle) they told me no problem just fetch it in an we will sort it out for you no cost it's under warranty....heck!
They examined it and said there was a problem with one of the components on the pre-amp,but it will have to go to the service center at Manchester to be replaced (again no cost)
They said I should have it back in about a week:d (the old waiting game).

So far the service has been fantastic ,you read some teribble stories.

I was wondering if and one else has had problems with the Pre amp.My bass was bought last November.

I would have managed to get a new preamp and would have asked a luthier to change it...

Wow! Your bass is going on a hell of a tour without you. If they are just replacing the preamp, I can't imagine why they had to go through all of that. As Ian says, this should have been an easy fix locally.

Hey Slipperman, comfort yourself with the knowledge that "Experts are checking your bass right now"....:d Besides that, I think it's standard procedure to sent them back to the factory, especially when they're as new as yours.
