Drugs

the morning after mayb?

Dali was friggin' high when he made his paintings................. 8)
Dalì was a pure genius! Freud was a huge fan of his early paintings because of their brilliant analysis of the human psyche and Nobel-prize winning mathematicians and scientists were enthralled by his later works for their technicality. Big discussions were held at his museum on the "chaos axis", a far-out mathematical anomaly. He was more excentric than high. Really quite off topic I know, but Dalì is one of my biggest inspirations! As for the whole drug debate, I only support medicinal use. If it can cure people, use it. If you need it to feel better about yourself, sad...

An argument for the legalisation of all drugs: (i don't aggree or disagree with this argument or point of view, but i think it is an interesting 1)
"The legalisation of all drugs would be hugly benifitial to society as it puts the drugs in the control of the government as opposed to the criminals and "terrorists". By legalising all drugs the government can control the purity and saftey of drugs, can charge tax on drugs and use the money earnt to build public rehab centres where drug addicts can have safe access to their drugs with out fear of procecution and with help availble if they wish to stop (which most (not all) will). Many criminal organisations are controlled by drugs, for example pimps often use highly addictive drugs like herion and cocain to control their "whores", by giving them a "taste" to get them hooked then making them "work" for their regular hits. This could be stopped by the legalisation of drugs, clinics where people could come to without fear to get treatment and safe drugs would be set up and would be benifital to current users and future users. The legalisation of drugs would also free up the police force so they could focus on other crimes such as rape and domestic violence."

I don't really know where I stand about legalising drugs or what not... all I know is when I'm up on the stage on a gig - I don't need anything else to make me feel that good

agreed i don't no where i stand either, which i guess meens i don, which is often the case when on drugs lol.

I`m 100% with you there. I usually never drink before a gig... well, maybe a bottle. After an incident a few years ago, where my former band got a crate of Budweiser 6 hrs before the show, I`ve laid low.

I'll stick to one or two before we play. I don't care for getting drunk anymore anyway. Money that can be spent elsewhere, for better things than (in the end) pissing it up the wall.

Personally, as far as drink/drugs go in a band environment - I think it's totally selfish to get steamed before going on stage. The guy standing next to you can't keep in time, and when you tell him he needs to tune up because he's strumming way too hard so that he's knocking himself out of tune, and he tells you it sounds fine, it's just embarrasing, and enfuriating. It really does drive me insane.

You know what pushes me to the edge of my patience though? When confronted, all they have to say for themselves is - "It's rock n roll"

It's just not cool.

The last time I talked to a girl high, I asked her what she did for a living like 3 times in 10 min. :) Anyway, to each their own.

i seriously concussed myself once and asked what day of the week it was every two minutes for nearly 6 hours. what was going through my mind was pretty crazy, like watching chicken run (a film) in the hospital and not being able to work out if it was real or a dream (or if chicken run itself was real). i didnt know who i was and had no hold on reality. probably pretty similar to some drugs  probably not the best way to get a "high" experience though

i always want to put on the best show i possible can every time i play. i therefore drink nothing but water and stay away from chocolate and dairy (for vocals). that can add to a gigs high, knowing your preforming at you best because you've prepared yourself propperly

lol, thats so heavy metal of u.

i've always wanted to be able to say, we're adults, so we should decide how to live our lives. however i bvelieve that people no longer think for themselves.

obviously there is the media, but there is also the way in which governments are making laws for absolutly everything. this leads to people deciding what is good and what is bad based on what their country tell them and this leads to people losing the mental maturity to decide for themselves what is right and how they should lead their lives. people no longer need to decide what is good and bad because its already been decided for them. people no longer weigh up the good and bad of something to decide whether they should do it, and base their decision. because of all this i think, as we are not needed to decide whats right and wrong (as the government decides for us) i think many people have lot the ability to be able to propperly decide for themselves.

i'd much rarther live in a place where the government has a few important law to up hold (thing like you dont kill each other, you dont steal from each other) and leave the rest for inderviduals to decide besed on them being adults. this would leave people to take whatever drugs they want. this should work, if you take drugs its your choice and your responsability, you shouldnt be punished for it but if you let the drugs take a hold on you you've pounished yourself.

i personally dont take any drugs. i enjoy using my hard earned mony for more permenant things (at the moment bass stuff and in the future, a mortagage/bills etc)

anyway i hope some of this made sense. its probably strayed off the original topic. all i was trying to say is that i think people should have the choice to do whatever they want, as long as it doesnt have a negative affect on other, but i think because of how society works these days, it is no longer possible to rely on peoples "adultness" and maturity (which in my opinion all adult should have

music is now what i care about moer than anything else and i dont want to fuck it up. also, people pay money to come and see us. who the hell am i to take their money and give them a sub standard preformance

i agree, im not a metal fan lol, but its just not very harcore, but i do basicly the same, sept minus the chocolate as i don't sing in my bands much. And i do like a nice cold beer, but 1 big lager will do me fine b4 a show and won't affect my playing, but there is the problem that lager makes u need 2 go 2 the loo badly, so not so good in the middle of a show. but deff no drugs or hard col b4 a show, coke and lipton ice tea are good tho

Backstage with Dave Mustaine he drank nothing but water before the gig and spent 30 or minutes preparing himself for the gig. The set was still pretty flippin' heavy! :D

Well, I don't smoke (I never tried it, really), I don't drink alcohol (I've never been drunk, just a little bit dizzy from 2 beers), I have never done any drugs. My only drugs are the Internet (spending too much time on it...) and the bass :D

And I'm happy :D

Stay that way Michi, you will save a lot of money, and a lot of years of your life. Nothing good came in my life from drugs alcohol and cigarettes, and I am so happy I am free of chemical addictions now... I have to thank my son Luca for that :-)

I still drink a beer or two, sometimes (twice a year) I even drink a little bit too much, but this is not my everyday life anymore!

I've been gigging drunk a couple of times about 15 year ago and I remember the feeling. It sounded awesome and you could see the ladies drooling after you and in the audience. The bass sounded so well and the fingers were twice as fast as usual. The band sounded really tight. The gold records were raining down from above....

...until I waked up next morning and listened to the live recording

Don't really want to go on about this a lot... but Florin's experiences pretty much mirror my own... except I haven't got a son!

... and very good analysis by Scubadiver

I usually drive to gigs, so won't drink anyway. sometimes a have a cigar, but i won't be doing that after 1 July (smoking ban in UK)
