Corvette standard question

Hey, I've been considering buying a Corvette standard 4 strings.
But in retailers as musicians friend and music123 there are two diferent corvettes, one wich costs $1039 and one wich costs about $1279.
But they both seem to have the same specs, but the $1279 one, seems more bubinga like, the cheaper one looks like it was basswood. The expensivest one, has to be back ordered and becomes available after 25 days. Why is there this different, and if so, money not being a problem, which would yo buy?

Hey dude,the Corvette standard comes in 2 models,the swamp ash body & the bubinga body.The bubinga model is the more expensive of the two.The difference between the two is their sound.Hope that about covers your questions.Cheers.
 
yeah I know, but, the vette standard in ash costs about 850 bucks.
However, in musicians friend, after searching with "warwick corvette standard", there are 2 corvette standards bubinga, with the same specs, but with different prizes, one looks awesome and bubinga like, but the other one still looks great, but looks different.
Besides, the vette ash, can be bought in different colors, but both of the basses im talking about can only be bought in natural finish.
I don't know what to do, since I live in southamerica, and will be buying the bass through a friend that doesnt now anything about basses.
 
The price difference may be that one has passive pickups and passive electronics, the other is active pickups and active electronics, which would account for a difference in cost. Both are options on the Corvette Std.
 
I just checked it out at musiciansfriend and the post above is correct. The price difference is in the pickups. One is active and the other is passive. Best of luck! :D
