Corvette NT...........you guys happy with the maple neck ??

I've been waiting for a Corvette NT for a long time, and even though it probably sounds kick ass, I think I would prefer an Ovangkol necked version............
It will have its own sound, but still I guess it will sound more like a Stage I than it will sound like a Thumb; a bit "flat" with less balls. I remember Seth mentioning somewhere that the Streamer $$ has less low end than the Corvette $$.............(maybe he used different words, but this is what I recall....)
What do you guys think ??

P.S. I am nevertheless VERY happy that there is a NT version anyway......

I think that warwick must have chosen the maple neck for a reason. So it must sound good with the maple.

The CS Corvette NT that I'm putting a deposit down on in a week or two is ovangkol necked - it isn't purely a decision against maple, per se, but I'm building it to achieve a certain tone and maple just won't do it. I can't wait to try out a standard NT as soon as I find one though!! I also think it'll be a bit closer to an SS2 in tone than a regular Corvette. ~M~

I agree that Warwick probably have a reason for using a maple neck... but I just love ovangkol necks. I'll have to try out the maple, but if I was going for a corvette NT I'd be tempted to go the CS route!

Maple wouldn't be my first choice for a $$. I'm hoping for a non CS model that's not a $$...

I think ovangkol is more... Warwick teritory while maple is everyone elses.

Also the Warwicks I played with maple necks did sound as preferable to me.
