Corvette FNA Jazzman Sound w/ coil splitter

Ok, I have some questions on the Corvette FNA Jazzman with the coil split switch. I don't really care about the 2004 LTD.

I have not seen any in person. I have tried reading some of the reviews and searching the boards to get a feel for what they sound like.

1. Can they sound like a Musicman?
2. Can they sound like a Jazz?
3. Do they have a significant amount of growl (at least Corvette Standard)?

The double bucks look cool, but the chances of gettime my hands on one of those in my price range is slim. I am thinking the Corvette FNA Jazzman may be a good purchase.
 
I've owned a Corvette FNA Jazzman LTD 2002 4 string..

I didn't like it as much as my other Warwicks.

I could get the Musicman sound out of it.
And the Jazzbass sound.
But I had a Seymour Duncan preamp in mine with a Slap Contour thing that I didn't like at all...

It sounded good and played good but something was diffrent from my other Warwicks. Can say exactly what but I didn't use it so much, so I sold it..

I had much lower output then my other Warwicks...
Not that Fat LOW Bottom Growl...

Maybe mine was a monday morning production... :wink:
 
I have my 2004 Ltd 5 as my main axe and it sounds great but it might differ from the 4 as well. I have tried to figure out what the controlls are because I have three push/pulls on mine, the one on the volume is for passive/active and then I have one on the bass controll (probably singlecoil split) and then there is one on the mid control as well. I can hear the sound difference but only at the bridge pickup so I guess its a serial/parallell switch...? Does Oliver or anybody else know? But this setup shows that the preamp is different from the 4 as Marcus used to have.
 
hello, I have a FNA jazzman LTD 2004, and i think i have a probleme with the height pickup? Someone can tell me how set this height or what your height's pickup

Hi.

I have a FNA jazzman swamp ash and I can safely say that...

1-Yes with help with the Coil switch, 3 band EQ and Pickup pan.
2-see above.
3-Hell yes.

The only thing I would suggest is to get the active/passive pull rather than the slap contour, which is what I have got and I dont think its that useful. Not for me anyway.
 
Since this post, i played one. I was a little dissapointed, but I was playing through a Mesa amp (liked it), but it was not as transparent as others. It had more distortion /OD going on, and it was hard to tell how much was the bass and how much was the amp.

I need t spend more quality time with it before I write it off.

I have been really happy with the sound I am getting from my Corvette 5 Standard.
