The 3 way toggle switch on my bass affects only the treble PU and gives the following tones: Up= Series - the "mellowist" and most generic tone, Middle: Single coil with a great slightly burpy Jazz bass tone, Down: Parallel - A classic aggressive Warwick tone with the most growl and midrange tone.
The single coil is self explanatory, but what is going on exactly, and what is the difference between parallel, and series? Why the difference in tone? I have never understood how the wiring can make the bass sound so different. Thanks.
