Corvette CS NT 5 string

Inspired by NewGuy711's new Corvette NT, i began dreaming of a CS:

- Corvette neck-through design
- 5-string
- Bubinga body
- Maple neck with Wenge fingerboard
- Scale length: 34"
- Active MEC pickups, 1 Twin JB and 1 PB (reverse setup)
- Active 3-band electronics SD Basslines
- Natural Oil Finish
- Black hardware
- Matching Headstock

And this might not be a JanVanHove mockup, but i think i did allright:

I wouldn't have done it better, myself...

And I really like the P/TJ combination, great bass!

Nice idea ! I like it. Must be a great bass. I'd go for Ebony board though.

Can someone give me a quick run-through on fretboards? On my dream bass I settled for wenge as I want a bass with a dark board, and I have a bass with a rosewood board already... And ebony costs more I think? But on the subject of playability / tone, I'm kinda going in blind. Any thoughts?

Ebony sounds a bit brighter than rosewood or wenge, but the growl is still there... And it looks great. Personnaly I don't like wenge, so...

what?!?!?! a bit? it sounds damn much brighter than rosewood. If you want a dark sounding bass go with wenge and maybe changing the neck wood would be a good idea

The Corvette NT is an incredible bass (personally, I put it right up there with the Stage II), yet affordable enough for custom shop additions. I drool over the possibilities... :shock:

Nothing offence intended here guys but one thing I've noticed is that most people used to say ebony sounded dark until Seth said it sounds bright.Now everyone says it's bright.Imo the fingerboard only contrubutes a small amount to the overall tone,but that's another matter.

didn't got that info from seth, it came from the wood properties of the warmoth website (gonna order a new neck for my JB soon)
 
I wasnt reffering to you personally.This is something I've noticed over the last year or so.

yup, the maple fretboard is just right!

why not a maple headstock as well?
