Clip Contest...

Cool got it all working, dunno if i'll have time to do it now as i'll be going back to uni, and am revising fro stuff atm, but once i'm back i get full studio access and i'll give it a go.

Quick question, do we keep the track and just play bass over it in anyway we want, or can we slice it all up, add sections and you know 'go crazy', or is it entirely up to you?
 
Doesn't matter to me. I threw that together in a few minutes. You can tear it all you want.
 
Got the track... Got to fire up Garageband and start trying to play bass!

well, this beat begs for a smooth funky bass line...but to be quite honest i'm awful when it comes to playing something like that BUT - I have an idea and I'm working on it now!

Where are we going to post our recordings?

I have one in the works....we got snow and ice up here the other day and the ice chipping and shoveling wrecked my hands (temporarily) so I had to put the project on the back burner - just couldn't play right!. I should have my clip posted before the end of the weekend!
 
I got one, but debating on whether it's good enough to post up. I have limited recording equipment here at my house. I'm basically just recording strait into a M-Audio MobilePre and then into Audacity.

The only recording i do at home is when i'm writing and come up with a good idea, i'll record it using this method, just to have something on "tape", then i can pitch it to the band after i have refined the idea. My home recording setup works perfect for this purpose, but is very low-fi. One big issue, is the fact that i can't "punch in" at all with this setup.

I recorded everything with my Streamer LX-5 LTD 08 though!

I'm uploading the file to a file sharing service as we speak though.

Recorded using my Warwick Streamer LX-5 LTD 2008, with pup pan 50/50 and both pups set to single coil, rear mode.

M-Audio MobilePre USB interface > Audacity

No effects, or EQs
 
That was cool. I liked the panned harmonics. They add to the depth of it all.

Thanks...very simple and somewhat sloppy due to the time constraints i had with it and not being able to punch in and fix anything....lol.

I might do another one, with a different groove, if i have time.

Alot of the fills remind me of geddy lee licks. That was awesome too, very tight.
