hi there .. i just got the GAS :D i was thinking to get a simple F..... r bass for classic tones, but like usual Warwick beats everything from price to quality and the chance to get a CS in the same time.

i'm asking for help and opinions .. 1. full maple vette (body,neck,FB)/passive JJ or PJ? 2. ash body/maple neck/maple FB/ passive JJ or PJ?

i don't have the money for the expensive maples, but i like a lot the simple maple and the sound is the same i think.

wich one would be more flexible and bassy? :)
 
do i get the SS1 kind of tone with ordinary maples? :roll: i don't know what kind of maple is on the neck option list (the cheap one) is there a difference between this one and the cheap maple body option or is the same maple? :?:

looking for maple explanations on the warmoth page some maples don't suit necks .. while others do but they are stronger and brighter in tone ..

i'm interested in the basic maple option for the neck and the body too .. but i guess there are some differences (?)
 
I would highly doubt Warwick would use anything less that top notch quality tone woods.

I have a Flame Maple bodied Pro Line Corvette (Wenge board/Ovangkol neck.) and it has awesome tone. Highs are bright and clear, yet not too crash, lows are nice and smoothed, a more refined tone I would say. Mids, are there, and easily heard as well! (Strings I have emphasize mids and lows very well.)

I've never played an SSI, but I'm sure someone on here owns both a Corvette Ash body and a SSI... Someone has to!!!
 
i don't doubt the quality of woods, i just don't know yet the tone differences between the two basic maples listed on the CS list ..
 
here it is .. that was the starting point for a funkvette somewhere in Jannuary :D :P

Ah! That's incredible!

I was just thinking the other day that I'd like a Bubinga passive 'Vette with a single P pickup, and simple vol/tone controls.

Very very nice I think it would be.

That bass looks great I really like the way it look's with the one pickup and all blonde. :D Can you make the picture bigger, :?:

No difference in tone.
 
i'd do a j/j configuration on an ash body, with a full maple neck. it would bring more funk.
 
I'd go with a matching maple headstock, the black head seems a little out of place... How about gold hardware ?
 
maybe some shiny hardware would be ok if we are going with matching head, but if black hardw stays maybe i like it better with both bass ends in black ..

@ andrew - there is my question: ash body (jj), maple body(jp), or ash/maple top(p) .. ?
 
It's none of my business,but I thought you were in need of cash & needed to sell your CS Thumb.
 
i need the cash for the doctors and my long term health problem .. but sometimes it seems that i feel better and i start dreaming again.

I just realized I am in a similar path with anghel, only thing mine will probably be a Streamer.
Florin, the ProLine sounds absolutely great! Somewhat un-Warwicky I think? But nice warm and round. I love it!
 
I think I'm on the verge of ordering (depending on how the quote turns out) a CS Ash JJ 'Vette with Maple neck and Ebony board.

Yum!

It won't have any fancy top sadly, but it should sound great!
