If Warwick made buck, Fender would be the single most richest corporation ever. Do you have ANY idea how many Fender knock-offs there are out there?!

And I'm not including "Super-Fenders" like Valenti's or Sadowsky's.
 
so, who cares if fender gets paid??? Why should that keep warwick from making money off of people who obviously stole there design that they worked on for years, and they copied in a day??
 
Its the same principal man.

If one company gets ripped off, and makes cash, why wouldn't other companies be able to collect to? That would be unjust, unfair, call it what you want.

Besides, Warwick doesn't need to collect, they a have a loyal bunch of players right here. We know why we play Warwick, and it ain't got nothin' to do with how they look.
 
thats not what I am saying at all, I'm saying that any company, that copies another companies design, should have to pay royalties for using their work, like copying a piece of art and selling it, you have to pay money to use it
 
Well, if we look in the past at Ibanez, and their "Silver Series," Was it? I just know them as the "Lawsuit Era" basses, it has happened before. Not to mention Gibson's lawsuit against PRS.

So, it has happened in the past.

I just don't think large companies are worried about it.

I actually almost commissioned Bud LeCompte to build be a Thumb Inspired bass before. I wasn't trying to copy, I was attempting to pay homage to the bass itself. However, I just didn't want to roll the dice on something I have never played before.



We also discussed this one as well, though, not a rip off.

I wanted to resurect this. I heard on the Yahoo bass groups from Yahoo Mexico about a guy wanting to buy a "Vorson" bass.

I checked out the distribution company and check out yourself:

Those are some pretty obvious knockoffs, Trujo. They actuaclly made me LOL!! I wonder if they sound like garbage or what? The Fortress Flashback is such a baltant copy it's almost as bad as our beloved Marwick basses. Goodness do I love the sound of my beautiful Marwick. Nothing beats Marwick!!
 
I think Warwick is too busy building beautiful basses then to spend their time trying to knock off their designs. But they probably should be a little more concerned, But then again, it's not the looks that make a Warwick.

Rickenbacker has the strictest anti-copyright infringment policies of any manufacturer. Hell, the even get ebay to back down and pull auctions if a copy looks too good. My Ric copy bass is hands down one of the finest copies I ever played, but compared to my genuine Rick, the difference is night and day.
