An answer for Corvette Bubinga

I'm thinking of buying an active/passive Corvette Std Bubinga, but I don;t know if it applicable for the kind of music that I play (rock, metal & blues).
I love its shape and its features seem to be wonderful for its price but I don't know if I regret later.
And what about its weight? I heard that it is little heavy. Is it true?

it is indeed hefty compared to F*nder basses, but the weight is compensated by the great tone...

Rock metal and blues sounds about right, but be aware that you're going to get a mid-rangy, growly tone, and not an old school classic rock thumpy tone...

The Bubinga is a little bit heavy and may take some getting used to but it's nothing you can't handle. A nice padded strap can help out a lot. I have a passive Vette Std. made from bubinga and I love it. You can definately use it for rock metal and blues. But JanVanHove is right in saying it will have a very growly mid-range. A totally different tone then a Fender Jazz or P-Bass.

I have a passive bubinga corvette standard - lovely bass, a little heavier than some basses but not ridiculously so - on the plus side you're not going to damage it!

personally i see my bubinga vette std (active active) to be bassier than a fender... i pick up a fender and it sounds thin.
