or should i say, the shaft snapped :roll:

i took the $$ out of the case today, checked the tuning and the shaft on the D string popped off :shock:

..can you imagine my facial expression?

I'm sure you'll get one free, but it's kinda strange that it broke that way
 
yeah it's really strange, it didn't absolutely take any beating, as it always travels in the hardshell case..and also the bass is intact :roll:

i sent an email to my usual shop (and Cc'd Hans-Peter) with the description and the pics..i really hope to get a replacement fast :cry:
 
I've seen that happen before. Hey do you only get those certificates withCustom Shop basses or all Warwicks. I didn't get any with the Dolphin even though it was new, had everything else though.
 
custom orders only i guess, i didnt get it with my stock $$ either :wink:
 
Thanks for the info Bro, I guessed as much. Should be an easy fix, Warwicks do use kinda light weight tuners, along the lines of Gotoh or Grover. The Tuners on my Ric are twice the size. I'm guessing Warwick will do you right mate.
 
no problem mate, i'm pretty confident as well, warwick has never let me down in three years :wink:

We won't this time either. I had a similar problem back in 2003 with my CS Thumb BO and I just called it in and got the new tuner. I even replaced it myself, very easy and can be done quite fast. I think you shouldn't worry about a thing.

Wow that suck's.Never saw one break like that,I've had a Grover tuner strip a tooth off the gear inside.And that was on a Tobias Bass.

i'm sorry ollie but the italian distributors proved to be a$$holes once again..i phoned in 5 mins ago to check the shipping times of my order and the answer was they didnt have an order placed for my spare part.. then they said they'll send it out in the next days but their parts are only FOR SALE.

european laws say there must be a minimum of 2 years of full warranty on new items, and there's no chance i'm going to take a penny out of my wallet for a defective part. the other problem is weive got a couple big gigs next months and i just cannot play without my $$ :cry: what should i do? send a mail to mr.wilfer himself?
 
That doesn't sound good... I'm sure Warwick itself will help you out in this case, clearly a faulty part.

One of the biggest selling points apart from the quality of products is the customer care that Warwick give, and one of the main reasons that I'm (eventually) going to get a CS instrument myself...
 
you're absolutely right mate, the italian distributors kinda suck (even though they include hardshell cases with CS basses), that's why i'm writing an email direct to warwick :wink:
 
try the one in singapore where i live. up till now i still havent received my jan III.

oh yea. they quoted me twice the price of what u guys in the US are paying for a rockbass fortress. sad to say i've half given up on trying to get one now.

warwicks are lovely. but i would love hem even more if they kept a close eye on their distributors.
