I am the owner of a '91 streamer stage II with 2-band eq, 4 pots, volume is push/pull, active pickups.

On the back of the preamp is a little blue trimmer pot.

For what is this pot and how to adjust it?

Hey Uwe.
That trimpot is match active & passive volume levels.
To adjust it correctly,you set it so that you get an even output in both active & passive modes.

Thank you for the quick response.

Another question:

If I adjust the trimpot to match the active & passive volume level, it is at the most left position and the active sound is very muffeld, the passive sound is ok.

But, if I raise the trimpot a little bit, the active sound is very clean as it is in passive mode, but active then is a little bit louder as passive.

Is this normal?

Gee I'm not sure mate.
It seems to me that if you turn the trimpot all the way to the left,or anti-clockwise,that's turning it right down in level.

Hey UWE.

It depends on how you use the EQ. Greg said about the EQ flat I guess. If you boost the bass on the EQ, it will be louder...

Hey Florin,

with the EQ - bass and treble - set to flat and the trimpot adjusted to a clear sound (a little bit raised up), the bass will be louder in active position.

If the trimpot is all the way to the left position, the output volume match in active & passive, but the sound is very muffeld in active and clear in passive position.

Any idea?
 
This is weird... I always thought the trimpot is a booster, not a "cut" pot. So it means the better sound should be in the left position...
Are the pickups set correctly? Not too close to the strings?
