Yup, I widened one to 17.5. T is easily doable. Should t have backed out of the deal IMHO

I had to make the call before UPS showed up to pick it up... the problem was in the specs i get width at 12th fret for Warwick but last fret for both Ibanez & Musicman. I couldn't confirm whether it was an Ibanez neck or a Musicman neck... the only thing written down that was concrete was 16-16.5mm spacing.

Sucks for me but to lay down that kinda money I had to be sure. Good thing is that I can find a Warwick locally & try it to be sure & grab that one or the next that rolls through.

I'm going to try to get that last fret measurement... i'm looking for 70mm vs 68mm.

Don't think of it as an Ibanez neck or a Musicman neck. It will be neither, it will be a Warwick neck and is in a class all it's own :-)
 
Yeah. Warwick necks feel very different to most other basses.

If you wan't Ibanez or Muman neck buy Ibanez or Muman:-)
nothing wrong with either.
 
Alright guys... heres an UPDATE

I missed out on this bass... and frankly... its been haunting me a bit. I LOVE my musicmans but the mahogany is pretty warm. I haven't been able to find a bass that fits what I'm looking for more than this bass... maple body, very aggressive tone (I think) 3 band EQ & a neck profile close to the Musicmans.

so... A Streamer Stage I pops up used near me in Boston, MA. I'm assuming that if its an 09 & on... the neck will be the same as this 2011 LTD Streamer LX... so I'm going to run down to the store today & make sure the neck works for me in person vs guessing. If it does. I'm going to hope to find another 2011 LX LTD... or who knows... maybe that Streamer Stage I is more aggressive?

I'll keep yall posted to see if I have any luck today
 
Well, a SS1 sounds more tranditional. Listin ton Jamiraquir or Limp Bizkit. I think LP is a better choice, seeing how Sam River's get a montserous tone out of his (Gold Cobra album is a great example).

Also, if you're planning to get a SS1 5 string, be aware that they are broadnecks. Very wide necks for string spacing. It's one reason I don't own one, because I like my wicks to have the same or close to in neck size/width.

BIG TIME FAVOR PLEASE? Anybody able to measure width of neck at last fret on a newer non-broadneck 5? Begging ! I'm calling at lunch to try to get this bass :)
 
I missed out on this bass too. The seller posted it for $1450 + shipping after the OP in this thread backed out on the sale. I've wanted one for a while. I sent a PM, said I would pay right now, but he was holding it for a local sale which happened the next day.

Oh well :)

Yeah, do you know if the spacing can go to 17.5mm & if the width at the last fret is closer to the Sterling 2.75" vs the Ibanez 2.67?
 
No idea, I'd make do with whatever it had for that price. Warwick 34" Standard spacing bridges are all the same, and I have several so I know what I'm getting there. Warwicks are very comfortable to play.
 
END OF STORY:

The Bass Place in Arizona has one left... wont sell below 2k. I was hoping to get close to that ebay auction but it aint going to happen. Damn shame. Sucks to have missed out on it
 
I'll be kicking myself for a LONG time... he was just about to put it on the UPS truck when I backed out because he wrote the spacing wrong & I needed to make sure it wasn't an Ibanez neck. It was SUPER busy at work & I had to make the call then. OUCH
