2003 Thumb Blonde LTD vs 2004 FNA Corvette

Hi everybody,
I am new here. I am trying to decide between both of these two guitars. While I have tried Warwicks, I have never been able to try these two guitars and nobody in my area carries them. I can get good prices on both of them on the internet and am pretty sure I wanna choose one of them. I play mostly rock, punk, and metal. I was wondering which one you think would be better suited for me and why?

I'd go for the thumb ( again) if i had to choose between the 2.Notice how almost all the comparison threads involve the thumb bass,i wonder why :wink: :lol:

I really like the pickup combination in the FNA and Jazzman basses, but a Thumb... hmmmm :D :D :D
 
The Thumb Bass is the answer to all questions.

Seriously, you can't make a wrong choice either way.

But it would be nice if you had the opportunity to play both basses beforehand.
 
I would actually buy the FNA instead of the Thumb Blond if I could just buy one bass, this because the wider soundspectra on the FNA, i don't find the Thumb Blond that rich in tone, i'ts sharper with high attack but doesn't give that ooompmfff feeling :wink:
 
Try and find somewhere that sell these basses! Its important that you are able to try them out! I have played both these basses and they are very different from eachother!

What happens when you end up choosing one but when you play it you dont like it?

Its going to be personal taste in the end but, If your looking for more options in tone...FNA all the way.

I would agree about trying them if possible but I know Musiciansfriend claims to have the only Blonde thumb LTD's left!!! I have spoken with them about this particular thumb blonde and they said that if I was unsattisfied for any reason they would take it back no questions asked. Something to think about if you have to buy an unplayed bass, make sure they have a good return policy!
 
Hard choice.

If you do not own many basses and you want variance in tone, go for the 2004 LTD. It can sound like many different tones from one bass.

If you like your basses to do one thing, but do it exceptionally well, go for the Bleach Blonde. I got the Blonde and I have no regrets. Its got the most amazing "ringing" highs. Not to say its totally unversitile, its just that whether you make the sound fat like a P-bass, or thinner/cleaner like a Jazz, you can still tell you are playing the Blonde.

Also, remember these are 2 very different body styles. The corvette is more of a traditional design with a flat back and larger body. The thumb is compact and arch curved to fit your your contours.
