It looks great!
The Katana is a very well done instrument! It has rounder and fuller sound like no other Warwick, and delivers a very phat slap sound. It is one of those basses you cannot stop playing!

Thanks, the detail that caught my attention was that it's new, if i understand correctly.
I've seen similar priced NT-s, but they were used, and not necessarily in great condition.
Right now, my budget seems to be, around the price of a new Corvette Bubinga vs this Katana BO.
I have time to browse used basses so i'll wait more, but out of curiosity i want to ask:
I know you haven't tried this BO version, but what do you think theoretically about
GPS Corvette Bubinga JJ 5 vs Katana BO 5?

I can verify Florin's remark about Music Man necks. My Big Al has a maple neck with the satin finish on the neck, they call it gun oil and wax or something like that, and it is slippery as eel poo.

I must add though, wenge necks are definitely my favorite. My Streamer Stage I has the best tone of any bass I have tried, and my Dolphin is the easiest playing bass I have tried. Yay Warwick!
 
How would you guys compare a maple neck to an ovangkol one?
 
Maple sounds brighter, while ovankol is darker sounding and more focused. Wenge even more.
 
For your style of music, you should grab one of the many different LTDs that incorporate quite a bit of maple. Like Flo said maple = brighter. You can (sometimes) find them at a decent price used. You play with a pick, so get a Thumb or equivalent that has the pups closer to the bridge or an FNA-variant. You'll want an active/passive and MEC or Bartolini is great, imho.

I'd offer them less than $1500 but more than $1000 and get shipping covered! ;)

It's a great bass and they don't come up that often.
