I waxed my bass lastnight with the gold bridge on there... woke up this morning to the gold on the bridge fading away! After polishing it off... my bridge is now chrome! so much for the gold hardware.. It's still a slight tint of gold.. but mainly chrome. Sorta sucks... Although the chrome is so...
After looking on the company's web site,I traveled to my local Ace Hardware store (about a 15 minute drive). In the aisle with the varnishes & removers,at least in that area, I found 16oz bottles of Howard Feed-N-wax.The price is a bit steep, ($8.50 a bottle).but it beats $20 for the Warwick...
Hi there,
looking for good products for glossy laquer I have good results for years with car wax, based on carnauba wax. A few dollars only for a half litre of that. I registrated no aggressive additives in these products.
Dunlop, excuse me...
Anybody who has restrictions?
Cheers...
I found this stuff at the home depot awhile back and have been using it for over a month now (I wax my bass alot) and it's working pretty awesome. It's called Howard's Feed-N-Wax... It cost me like $5 for a pretty good sized bottle of it, I think it actually smells a weee bit better than the...
Hey, Odominguez, can you tell me mor detailed how you use melted wax at the factory, because I have to refinish a damaged warwick thumb, and I would like to do it the way you make it at the factory. Thanks :-)
Wondering who else here uses linseed or tung oil instead of the wax on your warwick? I find that the tung oil works quite a bit better than the wax does... A lil tung oil let it dry over night then use some steelwool and a lil linseed oil to take off the stickyness works alot better than the wax.
My thumb has developed tiny white deposits of what looks like dry wax in the pores of the wood.Any advice on how I can safely remove it or should I just live with it?
thanks folks.

I own a Corvette FNA (the discontinued model with the single MEC humbucker, not the FNA Jazzman). It has a flame maple top, walnut veneer and swamp ash back with a satin honey violin finish. The neck is ovankol with a wenge top. I'm pretty sure the body itself should not be waxed as it has a...
I just bought my new Corvette $$ in black coloured oil finish. My dealer also sold me a pot of Warwick "surface finisher" wax for polishing the body. But in the enclosed owner manual, it says, that "all colored oil models are completely sealed by their finish" and "a wax treatment is not...
