Goingdownslow said:After reading this thread I noticed that I too had what appears to be a build up of wax in the open grain of the wenge fretboad, ( I had waxed it thinking it was doing it good).
Cleaning it with a cloth with lemon oil wasn't removing it. I looked to see what furniture cleaners I had and there was one called Orange Oil, it claimed to remove grease, grime, polish and wax build up. I sprayed it on a clean cloth and rubbed the fretboard down with it and left it to soak in for a few minutes, then used an old tooth brush along the grain of the wenge to clean the deposits out. So far so good, I have a nice dark brown open grain fretboard again.![]()
