should I wax?

I own a Corvette FNA (the discontinued model with the single MEC humbucker, not the FNA Jazzman). It has a flame maple top, walnut veneer and swamp ash back with a satin honey violin finish. The neck is ovankol with a wenge top. I'm pretty sure the body itself should not be waxed as it has a satin finish, but what about the neck? My dealer told me only to wax it if I want it to be glossy (which I don't want). I don't think it has ever been waxed as I am the first owner and it has been sitting at the dealer since it was made. The neck is very stable and in perfect shape. Am I doing it damage by not waxing it?

Hello. Colored finished are not to be waxed. This could damage the finish of your instrument over time. You can wax the neck if you feel that it's dry.

Cleaning an oli finish Streamer Stage One

Hi,

I just bought a very used Streamer Stage One and would like to clean an wax all parts. So what is the best way to remove some small scratches and "patina" ... do you say so in english? ;-)

Can I use some fine sand paper or something like that?

For a natural wood finish, I'd suggest using steel wool to remove old wax, patina, and "club cheese".

For a colored finish, I would use automotive rubbing compound.
