Hello everyone,
first time poster, but long time Warwick/Framus Fan :)
I am wanting a bit more growl for especially Metal sets, ans someone pointed me in the direction of the thumb bass, so I wanted to check with the forum if it makes sense (I can not try warwicks out here in the...
The late/great Paul unleashing sounds from his wick that are filthy like an old shoe!
I challenge anyone to find a more agressive Streamer tone. Found this and loved it, plenty of swearing in it so dont watch if you are easily offended. Saw this tour in Adelaide and the pit was another planet...
I have a 2008 Corvette Standard Fretless that's 100% stock. I love the crusty, raw, aggressive growl of the passive MEC pickups, but the noise makes them unusable in many situations.
So, what is my best option for replacing the pickups without losing the character? I don't usually like the...
Ooh men, what a sound! I found this Bassist From Argentina: Guillermo Vadala.. It's simply amazing.. listen how he plays like santana in the fact that yo can "sing" his bass lines, he seriously BOTM! how to get that growl? obviusly it's a fretless.. wonder which brand of bass he use. i...
I just got done jamming on my thumb bass, and is seemed that i have forgotten that warwick growl! it has totally increased my love for the instruments!!!! So, for my question: how would you describe that warwick growl? And for you, how does it compare to other...
I have two corvettes, one fretted, one fretless. They are awesome basses but I feel my current amp does not do them justice (entry-level crate). What is the best amp combo or head/speaker combination that I can get for around $500? Thanks!
I love Warwick growl and succeeded in achieving quite an aggressive growl from my SSTD - I just cut some lows, push mids around 400Hz - and that's it. I've also put some rare earth magnets under the pickup to bias it to more single-coilish tone.
That was fine until I switched my Makita electric...
hi
i just got my corvette$$ nt ash
and i know its not the most growl of basses but i thought it have a bit more balls then it dose i mean it has more then my rockbass but still
i still love it to death i was just wondering if any1 nose how to get it growling a bit more
So, like a few others here in the forum, I'm thinking that I need a fretless NT for my next bass. I've fallen in love with the sound of a Thumb NT thanks to www.jeroenthesseling.com and the looks of them thanks to Moobass, so a Thumb 5 NT fretless is definitely on my short list.
I've...
Happy new years. Even though that happened like a week ago, haha.
So I'm using an active bubinga Corvette Std., and I can get the E string to growl A LOT. However, my mids seem a little "weak". When I play a riff that goes from the E to the A string, you can really hear the Vette growl when...
I know a string subject thread may be repetitive but I wanted to get peoples opinion of strings used specifically that brings out the maximum growl of the Warwick.
Brand and gauge would be helpful.
Thanks all !
:D
I'm trying to figure out which frequencies give a Warwick its characteristic growl and punch. Is it the mid-bass (100-250 Hz)? What frequencies would you boost to give a bass more growl and punch.
Thanks,
Joe
What frequencies do you think highlight the Streamer Stage II best?
People like Dirk Lance and PNut have found it (or rather their engineers did). Where do you think it is?
Any Warwick that would possibly get the same feel and tone of a Carl Thompson? Customizations, etc.? Les Claypool has always been one of my biggest influences, but I'd rather not have to worry about buying a CT until I have a steady job AFTER college.
Hey guys,
I've recently been struggling to get the true sound out of my SS2 with my newly acquired Eden rig. I struggled with eqing the amp and bass for a good 2 weeks now.
However, today I took the approach of cutting frequencies out rather than boosting other frequencies. I put a nice...
I recently picked up an Eden WT400 and 4x10xtl. I'm having a little trouble getting the true sound of my Streamer Stage 2 to come through...a lot of the growl is missing, as opposed to when I plug straight into a mixing board and I get a super flat sound.
Just curious to see what amps you...
I have found some interesting things regarding growl and the characteristic warwick sound that clashes with the conventions most people have.
all this time, i thought that the growl exhibited by warwicks was found in the low mids, since warwicks are supposedly famous for their low mids...
I just traded my beloved Fna jazzman 5 for a NT thumb 5 because it was one of the 3 warwicks on my list and got it for my jazzman and 300$ US. It has a unique sound and the sickest B string in the game. I couldn't talk my kid out of going to school so I can't buy both right now and as much as I...
hey all! just wondering what srings you guys used on your warwicks to achieve certain sounds? as for me i use daddario xl nickel on my vette and the stadard black labels on my streamer. i find they both suit me well in a melodic rock band...
what about you guys? would be nice to hear how some...
